I collected the list of skaters who skated both segments in Team event and skated / were planned to skate both segments in Individual event at the Olympics 2014, 2018 and 2022. (I know there is a mention about not discussing skaters from past, but looking at some user's reaction, I do believe that some things should be mentioned.) In best I hope that possible mistakes or real mistakes done in past will be taken and changed to make future better.

All cathegories are very difficult on top level, but I think that both mental and physical tiredness is more effecting single skaters in difficult jumping passes - and we already know it leads to big loss of points.

That is why I believe that quality of performance in single cathegories is more influenced while competing in all four segments of figure skating competitions at the Olympics.

I will go more into detail with list of single skaters.

I would like to mention that for answering some questions, I will also use description of mistakes in skaters' programs (fall, underrotation, doubled / singled jump). All skaters had few or many elements executed on high level, but for this kind of analysis number of mistakes is important to decide how much effected was their performance thanks to participating in all four segments of the competition.

It is question how much relevant is to compare scores at different competitions. Technical panels were the same for both Team and Individual event. Panel of judges had two or three judges who took part at both events, other judges were different.
That is another reason why I used description of mistakes to compare better quality of performances.

The analysis is not precise for not using precise datas - level of lactic acid in blood, height of jumps and speed of jump's rotation in Team SP (= first competitive program) compared to Individual FP (= fourth competitive program) etc. I don't have such possibilities.

Another reason for not precision is too small sample of skaters. We will probably need another three Olympics to confirm any suggestions.

But let's try...

During past three Olympics - it happened 36 times that skater / couple was skating all segments of figure skating competitions at the Olympics.
7 ladies, 8 men, 9 pair couples, 12 ice dance couples (in reality 11 ice dance couples, because T. Virtue & S. Moir skated twice).

At last three Olympics total number of 36 skaters / couples were planned to skate all segments in both Team and Individual event:
- 15 single skaters - 8 ladies and 7 men
- 9 pair couples
- 12 ice dance couples
- in reality only 11 ice dance couples (T. Virtue & S. Moir skated at two Olympics)

1. HOW MANY OF THOSE SKATERS / COUPLES WON INDIVIDUAL MEDAL AT THE OLYMPICS SKATING ALL SEGMENTS?
- single skaters - 0
- pair couples - M. Duhamel & E. Radford, A. Mishina & A. Galliamov
- ice dance couples - T. Virtue & S. Moir 2x, M. Davis & Ch. White, V. Sinitsina & N. Katsalapov, M. & A. Shibutani

2. HOW MANY SKATERS WERE EXPECTED TO MEDAL AT THE OLYMPICS, BUT DIDN'T SUCCEED (SKATING ALL SEGMENTS)?
- single skaters - Yulia Lipnitskaya (2014) and Kamila Valieva (2022) were the biggest stars with gold expectations, Evgeny Plushenko (2014)
- with crystal clear skate I believe that Patrick Chan / Mikhail Kolyada / Carolina Kostner (2018), maybe even Mark Kondratiuk (2022) could have a chance to fight for at least bronze medal
- in pairs and ice dance I don't see anyone who would be clear medal contender and didn't succeed

For next questions - my definition of CLEAN program = no fall, no <, without negative GOE, not doubling the triple jump.

3. HOW MANY SKATERS / COUPLES SKATED CLEAN ALL 4 SEGMENTS OF THE COMPETITION AT THE OLYMPICS?

- single skaters - 0
- pairs - 0
- ice dance - M. Davis & Ch. White and T. Virtue & Scott Moir (2014), T. Virtue & S. Moir and E. Bobrova & D. Soloviev and
Maia & Alex Shibutani (2018), V. Sinitsina & N. Katsalapov and P. Gilles & P. Poirier
and W. Shiyue & L. Xinyu (2022)

4. HOW MANY SKATERS / COUPLES SKATED CLEAN INDIVIDUAL SP (SD) AND FP (FD) AFTER SKATING BOTH SEGMENTS OF TEAM EVENT?
- single skaters - 0
- pairs - A. Mishina & A. Galliamov (2022)
- all ice dancers mentioned above of course, also A. Capellini & L. Lanotte (2018) - simply all ice dancers who qualified for Individual FD

5. HOW MANY SKATERS / COUPLES SKATED ONE CLEAN PROGRAM IN INDIVIDUAL EVENT AFTER SKATING BOTH SEGMENTS IN TEAM EVENT?
- single skaters - M. Rizzo (FP in 2018, remember - without quad in any program)
- pairs - M. Castelli & S. Shnapir (SP in 2014), A. Mishina & A. Galliamov (both SP and FP 2022), Alexa Knierim & Brandon Frazier (SP in 2022)
- ice dancers - all dancers with the exception of Reed siblings (2014) and M. Komatsubara & T. Koleto (2022)

6. HOW MANY SKATERS / COUPLES SKATED CLEAN SP / FP IN TEAM / INDIVIDUAL EVENT? AND PERCENTAGE OF SUCCESS?
ICE DANCE:
- Team SD (12 programs in total) - all ice dancers in 2014 and 2022, 4 couples out of 5 in 2018 (as Italians fell) = 11 out of 12 couples = 92.67%
- Individual SD (12 programs) - all without Reed siblings (2014) = 11 out of 12 couples = 92.67%
- Team FD (12 programs) - M. Davis & Ch. White and T. Virtue & Scott Moir (2014), 4 out of 5 - without K. Muramoto & Ch. Reed (2018), all 4 (2022) = 10 out of 12 couples = 83.30%
- Individual FD (10 programs as JPN in 2014 and 2022 didn't qualify) - all clean - 100%

PAIRS:
- Team SP (9 programs) - S. Berton & O. Hotarek (2014), all 3 couples in 2022 = 4 out of 9 couples = 44.44%
- Individual SP (9 programs) - M. Castelli & S. Shnapir (2014), A. Mishina & A. Galliamov and Alexa Knierim & Brandon Frazier (2022) = 3 out of 9 couples = 33.33%
- Team FP (9 programs) - nobody was clean - 0%
- Individual FP (8 programs) - A. Mishina & A. Galliamov (2022) - 1 out of 8 couples = 12.50%

LADIES:
- Team SP (7 programs) - Y. Lipnitskaya and K. Osmond (2014), K. Valieva and M. Schizas (2022) = 4 out of 7 ladies = 57.14%
- Individual SP - nobody - 0%
- Team FP (7 programs) - only M. Schizas (2022) - 14.29%
- Individual FP - nobody - 0%

MEN:
- Team SP (8 programs) - E. Plushenko (2014), M. Kondratiuk (2022) = 2 out of 8 men = 25.00%
- Individual SP - nobody - 0%
- Team FP (8 programs) - only M. Kondratiuk (2022) = 1 out of 8 men = 12.50%
- Individual FP - nobody - 0%

7. PERCENTAGE OF CLEAN QUAD JUMPS?

Team event:
- 26 quad attempts (13x toeloop, 6x salchow, 4x lutz)
- 12 quads with positive GOE (7x toeloop, 3x salchow, 2x lutz) = 53.85% out of all attempts
Individual event:
- 21 quad attempts (12x toeloop, 6x salchow, 3x lutz)
- 11 quads with positive GOE (8x toeloop, 1x salchow, 2x lutz) = 52.38% out of all attempts

8. HOW MANY SINGLE SKATERS EXECUTED PERFORMANCE WITH MORE MISTAKES IN INDIVIDUAL EVENT COMPARED TO TEAM EVENT?
In case of single skaters I look at protocols with mistakes and negative GOE.
Olympics 2014:
- E. Plushenko withdrew thanks to injury - I tend to think that the fact he already skated both Team SP and FP could play the role
- Y. Lipnitskaya had troubles in both Individual SP and FP
- K. Osmond skated worse in Individual SP, Individual FP similar to Team FP in jumping mistakes, but she also missed highest level on two spins (Level 3 only, while in Team FP it was Level 4), on the contrary two levels up with Step Sequence in Individual FP
- P. B. Parkinson skated worse in Individual SP, didn't qualify for Individual FP

Olympics 2018:
- P. Chan - better in Individual SP, worse in Individual FP compared to Team event
- C. Kostner - very similar in both, getting higher points in FP
- M. Kolyada - better in Individual SP, worse in Individual FP - especially the second half of the program with accumulating mistakes - 1axel, 2loop, 3axel with fall (this was the fourth competitive program = 10 quads in 8 days)
- M. Rizzo - worse in Individual SP, similar in both FP (no quad attempt, last two jumping elements in FP - 2axel)

Olympics 2022:
- R. Sadovski - worse in Individual SP, didn't qualify for FP (but that season he was 4th at Grand Prix and later 12th at World Championships)
- M. Kondratiuk - worse in both Individual SP and FP
- B. Jin - better in both Individual SP and FP
- K. Valieva - worse in both Individual SP and LP
- Karen Chen - worse in both Individual SP and FP
- Zhi Yi - better in Individual SP, didn't qualify for Individual FP
- M. Schizas - worse in both Individual SP and FP

- 14 skaters - I take E. Plushenko out because he withdrew
- 1 skater was better in both Individual SP and FP, having many mistakes in Team event, but having great competition in Individual event (Boyang Jin)
- 1 skater was similar in both Individual SP and FP compared to Team event (C. Kostner)
- 1 skater was better in Individual SP, she didn't skate Individual FP (Z. Yi)
- 2 skaters were worse in Individual SP only, they didn't skate Individual FP (P. B. Parkinson, R. Sadovski)
- 2 skaters were better in Individual SP - making mistakes in both SP, but having less mistakes in Individual SP, but they were worse in Individual FP (P. Chan and M. Kolyada)
- 2 skaters with similar Individual FP to Team FP (K. Osmond and M. Rizzo), but being worse in Individual SP compared to Team SP
- 5 skaters were worse in both Individual SP and FP

11 out of 14 skaters had one or both Individual programs worse compared to Team event = 78.57%.
5 out of 14 skaters had both Individual programs worse compared to Team event = 35.71%.

6 out of 7 ladies had one or both Individual programs worse compared to Team event = 85,71%.
6 out of 7 men had one or both Individual programs worse compared to Team event = 85,71%.

9. HOW MANY SINGLE PAIR COUPLES EXECUTED PERFORMANCE WITH MORE MISTAKES IN INDIVIDUAL EVENT COMPARED TO TEAM EVENT?
In case of pair skaters I look at protocols with mistakes.
Olympics 2014:
- S. Berton & O. Hotarek - had stronger both Team SP and FP
- N. Takahashi & R. Kihara - slightly better in Individual SP
- M. Castelli & S. Shnapir - better in both Individual SP and FP

Olympics 2018:
- M. Duhamel & E. Radford - similar in both SP, similar in both FP
- M. Suzaki & R. Kihira - similar in both SP, didn't qualify for the Individual FP
- A. Scimeca Knierim & Ch. Knierim - better in Team SP, better in Team FP

Olympics 2022:
- A. Mishina & A. Galliamov - similar in both SP, similar in both FP without the last lift (the biggest difference was fall from the lift in team FP)
- A. Knierim & B. Frazier - similar in both SP, better in Individual FP
- R. Miura & R. Kihara - better in Team SP, similar in both FP

2 out of 9 couples were worse in Individual event = 22.22%

10. HOW MANY ICE DANCE COUPLES EXECUTED PERFORMANCE WITH MORE MISTAKES IN INDIVIDUAL EVENT COMPARED TO TEAM EVENT?

In Ice dance I take points only (it would be much better with level and GOE, I know).
- 5 couples in 2018, Canadians and Americans in 2014, Russians in 2022 got higher score in both Individual SD and FD
- Reed siblings got similar score in 2014 and Japanese couple in 2022 got around 1 point less in Individual SD, both couples didn't qualify for Individual FD
- Chinese couple in 2022 got lower score in Individual SP (1 point less), while their score improved in Individual FD
- Canadian couple in 2022 got around 3 points less in Individual FD, while in Individual SD they got higher score

3 out of 12 couples executed worse performance at one program during Individual event = 25%.
WHILE 8 couples improved their score in BOTH Individual programs = 66.67%.

-------------

These findings clearly show that single skaters have disadvantage for Individual event while skating all segments of the competition.
