But how could a figure skater win the PCS after such a heavy fall? She needed
10 seconds(!) to come back to her program and became the highest points for transitions. It is a bad joke.
I think, Asade deserved to win.

This raises an interesting question: which is worse, one big mistake or many small ones.
In terms of choreography, interpretation, and presentation/execution, Mao's fall did result in a substantial reduction in PCSs. She scored in the middle 7's, whereas if she had skated perfectly her scores would have been in the low 8's.
Carolina Kostner, on the other hand, had major problems on her 3Lz, 3F, and 3S+2T, and minor bobbles on both of her Axel passes. She received negative GOEs on all five of these jumping passes, on the TES side. But in addition, little mistakes like a turn-out, hand down, no flow out of the landing, etc. -- these negatively impact the choreography, interpretation, and presentation as well.
Well said! ITA.After watching Mao's performance on You Tube, I'm just amazed at her quick recovery after the fall. It just proves her mental toughness. After the fall, I think she performed an amazing, beautiful program. Her skating was fast and she was just miles ahead of any other skater at Worlds. It would have been a crying shame if she hadn't won the title. As much as I love Yuna's skating, she just wasn't at her best at Worlds. Let's just say that I wouldn't have put Carolina on the podium but that's just my opinion. To sum it up, Mao was the best skater at Worlds this year and I'm thankful that she won the gold.
Mao was great after the fall. But I think her PCS was too high. She wasted the first half-minute of her program trying to find her place in the music

Not in all cases, but in this case I'll take the big mistake. Because it felt like on most of Kostner's jumps she was bobbling. She had what (3 clean jumping passes, that's ridiculous). It should effect the execution score. I'm sorry it should.
Let's not forget Yu-Na, who only had the pop on the 3Z as her one big mistake, or Yukari, whose downgrade on the 3A killed her. Yukari and Yu-Na deserved significantly higher PCS than Carolina IMO. Would that have been enough to change the results? Who knows.
Carolina landed on the podium the way Jeff Buttle used to score high - do everything no matter what, regardless of the actual quality of the elements. Ironically, Jeff was absolutely perfect here.

becasue the judges, like myself forgot all about the fall after the first 3/3. i think actually it was better that she fell right away and not in the middle. You forgot all about it and she completely performed the rest of the program.
