I re'read the RS article; it's a good one. Written by a former (when she was a teen) competitive figure skater who's now written a novel. Tracy O'Neill.

The vlog was fun to see. I imagine it only took a few entries for her to find out it's very hard to have enough content to fill even ten minutes or so every few days.

Yes but actually my favorite ones were the ones that were only around 2 minutes after she'd skated programs talking about how she felt. I guess in a way we often already get that from her now in the form of interviews since she is doing so well but they were a nice touch to me.

I didn't get that far, now you've made me want to go back and watch those. I do like it when the skaters are able to communicate how they felt while skating, after a program, before skating. Any time!
 
I like her SP, one of the my favourite this season. Maybe it is specific choreo from samba or latina dances? Alaine at the end of SP also is doing interesting movements.:) But I did not see Pina.

Go :love:Ashley! :cheer: We are in your corner, big time.

Ashley looks so fit and svelte and as JW said, pumpkin spicy! Her "fighting fitness" bodes well for her technical ability. Which is awesome when can stay in her mental game. Of course her musical interpretation, expression and artistry are always completely there, and also awesome. Kurt B. said of Ashley last year "She has the best eyes in the business."

I can hardly wait for tomorrow. I'm anxiously anticipating any possible practice videos today.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating it, and Happy pre-NHK Thursday to everyone! I have a houseful of adult children for the week-end, but fortunately I can watch the Ladies' events at 5 a.m., presumably before anyone else is up. :hap93:

I hope Ashley delivers another great short program and keeps Marissa's black dress. It is so Ashley this program, it fits her the most of all the Sp she had. And what I like more about is the speed and the attack she has from start to finnish. I saw it for the first time, before season started, in a gala or something and Ashley was wearing a latino dress and I didn't like it. I am sure it was only a short version of it and the dress... it was too common latino like, I hope Ashley won't choose this model if she decides not to keep Marissa's.

:rofl: I'm not sure Marissa wants Ashley to be wearing her costume at every competition she enters... I am pretty sure she lent it to her as a one time favor, not as a permanent standing loan. I do agree it looked great on Ashley, but I think we have to brace ourselves for the fact that she's going to be wearing her real costume, whatever it is, tomorrow.

Well, she could steal the model though:-D. Marissa doesn't wear it anyway, it's an old dress. I am praying not to see her in something "pretty" if you know what I mean. And that dress from the show, well it wasn't that bad afterall because... it wasn't a dress and she can't wear it in competitions. I don't want a fluffy dress the way the black skirt looks like. I think Adelina wears this type of dress for her short, so I would like to see something different on Ashley.

For me Ashley's SP is the most entertaining this year. And she always BRINGS IT no matter how her jumps go!
 
Some jump troubles for Ashley, but really actually enjoyed watching her IN SPITE of them. She really sold that program and the judges were totally buying (though I'm a bit :unsure: about getting a higher SS score than Mao of all people....guys, you could have gone outside the corridor there.)
 
Yes, Ashley can sell despite her jump errors and she fought to add the double toe onto her loop. She had loads of speed which was nice to see since sometimes she is criticized for that. I'm sure she will be angry at herself and really skate the heck out of her MR FS since she wants to make the final and be on the podium.
