Watched the Today Show video. I thought that Ashley was great. As my grandmother used to say "she spoke her piece and that is that".
Ashley is a wonderful speaker. She says what is on her mind. I could see her having a career in the public sector when she

In addition to Ashley's interview on Today I watched the interview with Mirai, Karen and Bradie and you can see why Ashley got her own segment.

I had the privilege of watching Ashley's debut of La La Land in San Jose on Friday, and I feel it's a gem of program. I am a little surprised at the somewhat underwhelmed reactions by those who don't see any appreciable differences from the structure of her Moulin Rouge program, or those who contrastingly prefer the drama and volume of MR. La La Land was, in my view, the most cohesive, thoughtfully-constructed program of all the ladies competing there and Ashley performed it quite beautifully. I will also say, for what it's worth, Ashley received a thunderous reception from at least my section of the audience and virtually everyone around me was dumbfounded by her PCS scores.
I hope she does go to 4CC, as was hinted in her interview on Today, and we get an opportunity to see the program grow. Maybe she will perform a modified version of it on the Stars on Ice tour, as she did with Exogensis.

Shoot. That is two sources now. I'm crushed after getting my hopes up from the Today show interview.
I hope so! I think she would be great on that show, though likely not a winner.
I'm baffled by Ashley's latest IG post about how her Olympic dreams were crushed two days ago(?) in "the most public way possible"(?). I know she withdrew, but her wording makes it sound like something happened to her recently. Nationals were over a week ago!? Can someone explain ??
She did say a couple of days but I think when you experience something devastating, the sense of time is impaired. When a lifelong dream is gone, a week does not feel like a long time. So a couple of days, a week it all becomes a depressing blur.

She didn't say "two days ago." She said "a couple of days ago." "A couple" is often used to mean "a few." I think the way to read that whole post is that, as temadd said, Ashley is still in the middle of that experience of extreme disappointment and discouragement, and time goes a little blurry. I also think that the rest of her post is really the important thing; she's again being open about her feelings and hoping to encourage others who go through similar feelings.
Also, it confirms my feeling that she just feels too discouraged to be able to do her best at 4CC, and she came to the realization that two weeks wasn't going to be enough to get her out of that feeling. I said, in part, at the top of p. 57 on the "Wagner furious" thread, a few minutes ago:

sorry i answer late yes it's true self-esteem is important especially for athletes like Ashley.
I am sad that one more faith Ashley will not do the 4CC so we will not see LALALAND I hope it will resume next year because it has potential and who knows we will see it in March.

I'm glad to see Ashley posting on social media again, and hopefully she's feeling better. It sounds like she'll still be involved with the Olympics in some way, and I'm very curious to find out specifically what!

According to her instagram story, Ashley's cat Dexter got hit by a car last night and is getting surgery. I know how important four legged friends can be and can't imagine how I'd be feeling if my cat were hurt. Sending some good vibes their way!

^^^ oh dear. I'm so sorry to hear this. Heartache on top of heartbreak. I hope Dexter recovers. Pets can be such a comfort. I've never thought of this till now, but I wonder who takes care of Dexter when Ashley and Adam are both gone for days or weeks for competitions, altitude training, etc.
I miss seeing Ashley skate and/or looking forward to her next competition. So much. I watched the ladies fs at 4CC today. It was a thrilling event. I recommend it. If you haven't seen it, you may be interested in watching the last 10 or 12 skaters. You can watch it in the Videos No Spoilers thread in the 4CC competition category.
But it's going to be a long time before I can watch ladies' skating without being angry at how Ashley was treated by the US judges. Watching 4CC today, I kept thinking during each skate what scores Ashley could have gotten from the international judges, who appreciate her skating more than US judges, it seems. With PCS scores like she got in 2016 and even 2017, she'd be competitive with the scores of the top ladies at 4CC who will also be skating at the Olympics. What could have been, and should have been.:curse:
