Ashley Wagner

Hey all I'm pretty new to this forum and am a fan of Ashley but I'm gonna seek refuge here after seeing the posts on Skate America.:disapp:

It's so full of immature people.

I'm all for people making constructive criticisms against Ashley that her skating skills aren't good but to go so far as to tell that she's better off as a strip club dancer is disgusting.

Anyways, hooray for 1st place! Totally deserved it :)

The costume designer Lisa McKinnon designed her Dangerous Woman, Exogenesis, and SP dresses. If you look at her instagram there are a lot of examples of her super blinged out dresses.

I know it was Lisa McKinnon again but I really wanted a blinged out unitard with the black mesh like her previous Sweet Dreams outfits and the practice outfit

They're just mad that she's skating well, and that and their comments say a lot more about them than about her.

Hey, welcome, qwerty! Seeking refuge here, LOL. I did the same thing. :)

It's so full of immature people.

And they were downright mean, too.:noshake:

But how can I say this gently? I'd prefer not to see the disgusting comments duplicated here in the FanFest. This may only be me, of course, I'm not trying to speak for others here.

Anyways, hooray for 1st place! Totally deserved it :)

:yahoo::cheer:She really did. I am so proud of her. ANd to think she's making such improvement at age 25, Ashley is Amazingly Awesome!

I would be down with that!

Ashley was lovely! She looks like she is having fun skating and she is super confident which makes me enjoy her performance so much more! Good luck with the long!

I woke up and just grabbed my phone to find Ashley was first after SP! Congrats girl !:hap57: I can't say I'm totally convinced with this program, but if I recall, she had a little time to get it done right ? Anyway she rocked it and it can only get better !

The comments in the Skate America competition thread also drove me here, haha... I thought Ashley's SP was amazing! The crowd was just losing their minds over her, to an extent I feel like I haven't seen before, even with other skaters who have a lot of star power. I also want to mention that I have major respect for her choice to do a layback spin without a biellmann... Not that the position can't be beautiful, but at this point I think it's becoming a cliche in the layback spin, and I was so happy to see her innovating in that area.

I actually really love her dress, too. It's edgy and bold... and am I correct in thinking there is a rhinestone-studded epaulet on one of her shoulders?? It seems like she wants to draw from fashion traditions that we don't normally see in the skating world, and I think it's working for her.

I'm usually partial to Polina among the American ladies, but Ashley's performance quality since last season has been winning me over. I wish her the best with this competition!!

She was absolutely amazing! Fabulous, and the audience went nuts. The video for sure doesn't tell the story! The dress is awesome like her. It goes with the era and the music.

After SP Interview (She's in the second half of the video)

It's good to hear that she doesn't miss being the underdog, being the underdog helped her fight for a lot of titles but a lot of Ashley's inconsistency was due to her not knowing how to defend titles after winning them. She's getting better and even with an injured thigh she finished quite respectably at TCC, had a decent start at JO and now stayed on her feet for the SP, hopefully she'll have a good FS tomorrow:hap10:

I loved her SP, it has very good vibes. Hope she wins Skate America's gold today. Good luck girl!:cheer:

Congrats Ashley on your second SA title! The LP has loads of potential by the end of the season it will be amazing.

I fell in love with Ashley since last season. Her SP and FP were absolutely amazing. But this season's programs are great. Sweet dreams - it's her music, all her music, she is able to feel it and revel in this program. And it'is impossible to tear eyes from she *_______*
But ethnogenesis is something incredible, Ashley so thin, so delicate, so sensual... I can review this FP forever *___*

I'm so happy, that she win. It's absolutely deservedly.
I'll be wait she in Final :3

I did not think i would love any of Ashley's programs as much as I love Moulin Rouge. But Exogenesis is beautiful! The music, the beautiful choreography, the facial expressions, perfect arm movements all just sublime. My new obsession.

All that negative stuff on the Skate America thread is just proof that Ashley has arrived at the top of ladies figure skating. People are only jealous of those at the top. Congrats to Ashley for getting her due.

I'm very pleased with Ashley's win at Skate America. She didn't need to be perfect technically this early in the season but it was good that she at least stood up on the 3-3 combo in both programs, rotation issues aside. I also think her solo flip in the LP got unfairly judged under. Hopefully with a few more weeks of training she will improve her spins and get some level 4's, she's leaving lots of points on the table there. I was hoping her spins would be stronger considering she noted she went to a spin coach in the off season. I think it is likely that Ashley is trying to pace herself to peak at the GPF and intentionally not going full out at this point in the season.

Ashley needs to fight:cheer: for the podium in the free skate tomorrow. I so want her to maintain and push herself forward as a contender for the world title.

And, let us all remind ourselves how capable she is of sailing right up via her free skate. Emotion, performance, charisma, do your work! :ghug:
