All the best of Luck and Love :luv17::love::luv17: to Ashley this week-end for Sk8 America! I can hardly wait. I'll be there. Will anyone else here in the fan fest?

here's a Tweet from Ashley from several days ago that I just love, and is a fun Sassy Ashley moment. It's good to remind ourselves that this is her go-to response to naysayers and anyone else who rolls their eyes at her choices.

I see this. I cherish this. I acknowledge this, and one day I shall do this just so people can roll their eyes at 4 years of Moulin Rouge 💋Ashley Wagner added,

Have a great time skylark! I was debating going but the 6 hour drive from NYC isn't really appealing to me at the moment. Maybe I'll change my mind last minute but doesn't seem likely at the moment. Hope Ashley gives you two amazing skates!

:thank: I have a good feeling about this week-end and Ashley's skating. I listened to her new IceTalk interview last night ... it was great; I recommend it to everyone. Nick featured Ashley on their 1st broadcast, then their 25th, and this one was their 50th episode. Nick already asked her for the 75th too. http://web.icenetwork.com/fans/icetalk

Well, Chris, I hope you change your mind and decide that the 6 hour drive will be worth it! ... pack a toothbrush and come! FWIW, I am driving approximately twice that, through Canada from Michigan. I'll have company on the drive though, fortunately. It's going to be an exciting competition for ladies and men's skating!

Have a fantastic time and post lots of reports on what you see!

Hi Temadd, do you have any suggestions about where would be good places, good threads,to post reports on what I've seen in the past couple of days? I'd like to.

Here! I guess if some of it is about other skaters you could post it in on-site reports for SA if there is one

Apparently during the SA coverage Yulia’s fellow announcer (he knows very little about figure skating) made a crack about Ashley having to quit during the program....something along the lines of she must have left her blow dryer on....and Yulia let him have it.

Thought it might cheer some folks up a little. I hope Ashley has a smooth recovery :)

Love that IG account, such talent and wit! And good for Yulia, who has been where Ashley was.

I feel for Ashley having to deal with a nagging injury and having her home broken into,

She will come out stronger because of this.

Thank you! :thank: Yulia is:love: awesome. Tara should take note, and take some pointers from Yulia about how to stand up for other skaters, esp females who oddly are often more maligned ... at least it seems that way to me.

I just hope that Ashley doesn't have too much time on her hands during her recovery that she goes on the internet and accidentally sees the absolute garbage there about her. I think she's too wise to do this ... but I also know how terrifying it is to get out of one's daily routine and have empty hours. I could wish her mother was there to help her out, but of course she has a life too.

I hope Ashley's recovery is smooth and swift., and she comes out stronger as apgold said. :)

SA Report on my experience ... of Ashley, of course!

First of all, I was so thrilled to be among the "first" to see her new dresses. The FS one is to die for. Just exquisite. I've never seen Ashley wear that color, and it is fabulous on her while also being so perfect to suggest Nicole Kidman in MR. The SP dress is a little slower for me, but it's growing on me. I loved Donovan's descriptions of both dresses in the IN article. Ashley won his gold for costumes. :) I'm not crazy about the center part hairdo/ponytail, but I've seen it this year on quite a number of the female skaters: Maia, Tessa among them. So, okay. It's the skating that matters ... and I loved her bouncy ponytail for HHCC before.

At the practices, I didn't notice anything unusual, she was all business but still smiling, especially during the Moulin Rouge program. She seemed slightly more "all business" during the SP competition, and now I believe it was because she was dealing with such pain.

Then, I had a fleeting thought at her beginning pose for Moulin Rouge, that she didn't look happy to be here, which is unusual for me to get that feeling from Ashley. I dismissed it, thinking it was her getting into character. Now I think it was the pain.

I wish I could think of how to put a more positive spin on what I saw. But as we AW fans know, anyone who counts Ashley out based on past performances or what she's having to deal with is usually due for a surprise. She'll be all the more determined. I hope she also just trusts her training, and lets her body do what it knows how to do.

Here is the silver lining, though ... Ashley's getting those PCS marks. I'm sure it isn't about reputation only. In addition to her awesome musicality, interpretation and acting nuances .... she skates with such presence and conviction. She knows who she is, what she wants to express, and how she wants to perform. That comes through so powerfully in person. Her ice presence is what impressed me about her at SA 2013 in the first place!

And I just thought of one more .... The live audience went ga-ga over Ashley, much more so than the other ladies. Supportive and appreciative of all, but they LOVE Ashley. It was very fabulous for me to be part of that and feel how much people love her.

Thank you so much skyark. I loved both of her dresses! I wondered what she was going to copy from MR because mostly they were pretty provocative (other than the red and white), including the one she used at SA. But Lisa McKinnon found a way to take a show girl costume and make it look elegant.

She has me a little worried with her cryptic IG post today "Exciting news . . . big changes" but she does have a way of proving everyone wrong so I'm hoping it's truly good news.

What are we thinking about Ashley's IG post today? Frankly, it worries me a bit.

What I'm thinking is ... Ashley is great at building suspense ... and I kinda wish she wouldn't do that! LOL. I'm really glad that whatever the exciting news and big change is, she's very happy about it. I hope like anything it doesn't mean she's pulling out of anything. I want to see her skate, now and for awhile. But of course, I want her to do what's best for her healthwise and happy- life-wise. Waiting on pins and needles to hear more ....

At this point I think it could turn out to be something that will seem anticlimactic and small. At least I hope so. Someone said on US ladies thread that she's started on ice training today. So that seems like good news. She's not going to pull the rug out from under us.

It's good to have you all to commiserate with!

I'm just thankful that Jackie Wong's hard work on the video isn't going to waste. I felt so bad for him when she switched to Moulin Rouge.

I don't really know what to think. I was very disappointed when it appeared she went back to Moulin Rouge, as much as I love the program, I think it had its total peak at 2016 Worlds, and I was excited by the LaLaLand she could produce. But that late switch, at this stage of the season, worries me even more.
Anyway, I wish Ashley the best of luck, after all she and her team know best. And I'm still excited to see the new program.
Go Diva Wagner :hap10:

Yes! Go Diva Wagner :hap93: :hap57: :dance3:

I'm really happy, for myself, to see LaLaLand in competition. And I believe that after the past few weeks, skating to this fresh, light and uplifting music will give Ashley an important lift for her spirits; also a refreshing change could boost her confidence. She did say she worked on LLL for months over the summer, so she should be able to pull it off. I personally feel that it will give her something to engage her mind and emotions rather than obsessing over whether she'll do her jumps in competition the way she does them in practice.
