Very nice. Michelle is the only skater I've ever seen pull off an inside spiral without looking awkwardly tipped over.


On another note, what on earth is that on the side of her boots? I thought it was a bad scuff (which would be odd to keep going into competition) until I saw a closer look.

I wondered the same thing, thinking maybe she was wearing her old boots.

It could be that, however I don't think an elite skater like Michelle would go into a competition with such an obvious mark on her boots. Also, her boot heels didn't appear very darkly polished. I think it looks like a little painted design now, but it's still hard to say.

That thing on the side of her boot (which, if you examine the picture carefully, you'll see is on her other boot as well) looks like a commercial decal of some sort.

You can see it a little more clearly in this picture, from the same set. Maybe it's the boot manufacturer's logo.

I love this dress! I like clear dark colors much better than more muted ones. I think those are little removable decal type things on her boots to match her costume, similar to this......

Wow! Beauty! What an amazing edge combined with the gorgeous liine of her spiral. Note to Peggy Fleming: LOOK AT THIS! Thanks for the link, Pati. On TV, the camera was focused on Michelle's, uh, ooh la la without a Maindenform bra, plus her facial expression, the latter of which was good to see, I give them that. But when skaters do their spirals, I think the cameramen should always do a full body wide shot. After the skate, they can show close-ups. Note to cameramen: SHOW US THE EDGES! They did the same thing with Sasha's second spiral, that is focusing on her face and upper body.

The thingy on her boots is Carl Malone's (basketball player)autograph - or so they said in the fluff piece they did with the two of them. He's know for his longevity in his sport. (not that I know much about Basketball)
