Martin Bidar is a talented pairs skater. I enjoyed him in juniors with Anna Duskova. Hopefully, he will be able to find a good match before it's too late. I don't remember him that well with Liza Zhuk, but I suppose they had somewhat better success than he's experienced with Kuchianova, who happens to be quite a bit younger. I am not concerned about age gaps, if a team matches physically and mentally, but it is often a topic of discussion held against some teams. Skating is such a difficult sport on many levels.
Good luck to Martin and Barbora as they pursue separate paths in their pairs skating aspirations.
I really miss Anna. She really was something special. Not only was she a great Pairs skater, but she was a great Singles skater too. And she continued competing in both for as long as she could get away with it. I remember one season when, as the season went on, Anna was becoming the favourite to get the Czech slot in Ladies at Junior Worlds. But in the end somebody else was sent in Ladies, and Anna just went in Pairs.
Since Anna retired, Liza has definitely been Martin’s best partner. I’ll be honest, I don’t even remember what Hanna Abrazhevich, the Belorussian skater that was his partner between Anna and Liza, was like. And I have a feeling that when I look back in years to come, it will be pretty much the same with Barbora. Those girls just weren’t with him long enough to make a lasting impression the way that Anna and Liza did.
You mentioning ages got me curious, so I calculated the age differences between Martin and all his partners, and also included the skater that was suggested in the thread as a potential new partner, Nikola Sitková. Here are the results:

It’s actually interesting to see how they all compare. So interesting that I decided to do it again, but this time with the other factor that people talk a lot about, heights:

For the girls, I have used the heights given in their most recent ISU Bio (which, in the case of all of Martin’s former partners, is their most recent ISU Bio with him).
For Martin, I have used 179cm for comparing with Anna and Hanna, as that was his height in his most recent ISU Bios with them; and 182cm for comparing with Liza, Barbora and Nikola, as that is his current height.
It really is fascinating comparing the differences in height.
The difference in height between Liza and Martin was pretty much the same as the difference between Anna and Martin when they were together. Which may explain why these are the two partnerships that seemed to work so well, and which lasted the longest.
Similarly, the difference in height between Barbora and Martin was pretty much the same as the difference between Hanna and Martin when they were together. And this may be a clue as to why these partnerships were not as successful, and were relatively short-lived.
Nikola is by far the smallest of the girls included in the comparison. And now that I have done this analysis, I am getting more and more curious about how Martin would get on with a much smaller partner like her. But, as Nikola is only 6 months younger than Barbora, she is also probably in the phase where she is still growing. So, we don’t know what height she will end up at. She could still have a growth spurt and end up as tall as Barbora or Hanna. And we would be back to square one.
Plus, as I said when Nikola was first suggested, although she is from the same town as Martin, she has been representing Slovakia with her most recent partner. So she will be under embargo until next October. Which is far too late if Martin wants to go to the Olympics again next season.
At this stage of the Olympic cycle, his best chance of being able to go is to partner up with a girl that already has a Czech passport and already has a lot of experience in Pairs skating. And one that it will not take long to gel with. And Liza Zhuk is the only skater that I can think of that ticks all those boxes.
But, we will just have to wait and see what happens in the weeks and months ahead.
I hope things work out for Martin. And for Barbora as well.
