The men often don't cause as much fuss but lately there have been some notables:

Ones I hated recently:

Weir's Olympic SP
http://projectqatlanta.com/images/uploads/johnny_weir_olympics_2010.jpg

his fur thing
http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/Johnny-Weir-Olympics-Fur-300.jpg

Van der Perren's skeleton--looked like a cheap halloween costume
http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/Johnny-Weir-Olympics-Fur-300.jpg

this may not be awful, but I just hated it with MJ. Most of the time Tomas looks pretty poorly attired.

BEST:

A day in the life

and he always has class yet conveys the story
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DE66jWjE8X4/TOeNMuiBO-I/AAAAAAAABDA/4Ll2Psr1T-s/s1600/abbott.jpg

I love a lot of what Daisuke wears, but am partial to La Strada

Adam Rippon's understated costumes this past year were favorites of time. Got romeo and juliet just right:

i agree with your choices, esp. a day in the life and la strada. i have to say though i love daisuke his fashion choices sometimes makes me blink a bit :) now, adam rippon's costume was TOO perfect for romeo and juliet--i started expecting him to jump and emote like nureyev :) he is a terrific adam but a poor nureyev--for one thing he is too pretty. nureyev was rugged, rough around the edges

Big fan of understated elegance, so I'll go with most of Todd E. and Paul W.'s costumes.

I like Mike W. as a skater, but I didn't like his costume that looked like a tattooed t-shirt a few seasons ago. Ditto for Brian J.'s "1492" costume (the brown one with the rope).

Wow I don't remeber ever seeing that outfit on Adam. Looks like a Weir original.

I hated Abzal Rakimgaliev's LP costume last year and his SP costume this year. The LP costume last year was just too pink and the SP costume this year was just too.. much. Javier Fernandez' SP costume this year was a bit over the top too, but somehow looked cute on him. I don't think it's coincidental that both of these skaters are Morozov skaters. ;)

The recent outfit Brian Joubert wore to worlds may be best or worst, depending on how much you like this new skating element --- the camel toe (a combination of the camel spin and the triple toe, of course). Really though, aside from the modesty issues, it's an awful outfit. Looks like someone spilled glitter on granny's tablecloth.

That shirt is awful. But I hear Brian Joubert fans loved the pants. ;)

When I first read your message, me not being a native English speaker, I was thinking "what the heck she wanted to say, did he really do a new element?". Then I googled the term "camel toe" and I PML.

I have to say that Brian Joubert outfits are sometimes a little bit over the top.

^I more naive, I thought who can do a camel and toe and I went and saw Jouberts program before googling it..:sheesh:

If I have to choose one man costume to go in the island along Sasha´s Dark eyes , it is Lambiels four seasons costume:biggrin:, I know it is against public opinion, but I adore it. I like all of Stephens costumes, second comes Traviata and his Flamengo one, but the Zebra is my all time fav, it is so messy with the colors and design, that at the end it makes sense, plus the zebra watching snow for the first time made it adorable. It is the magic costume, It matched with the Torino colors, his silver medal, everything:) No costume will surpass this one in creativity!
I have to think for the rest..

Btw for me Rippon in romeo and juliet looked like
a greek cubit.:p And the one Weir-like you posted is a remake of Daisuke costume from Romeo and Juliet, if not the same recycled (didnt they have the same coach then?)

I loved Jeffrey Buttle 2008 Worlds long program costume. He won the gold medal that year. I loved his hair blonde too.

Brian Joubert is showing way too much anatomy in this costume. LOL.
I like his pants in FS costume in the latest Worlds, exactly for the reason you mentioned.

Face it, there is not much anatomy left in men's skating. It's maybe our last chance! But with Plush back, things might go back to normal. Might.

LOL, well it's interesting how that rope enhances the look.
