Boston Ballet-what to wear????

Hi everyone! It's my first time going to the ballet, and while I'm really excited, I have to clue what the heck to wear! It's going to be really nice this weekend, and I have this pretty pink and brown tired skirt that I was going to wear with a dressy pink halter top, and maybe wear my denim jacket if it gets cool. Does that sound too casual, or do I need to be dressed more formal? It's going to be at the wang theatre in the theater district of Boston, if anyone is familiar with Boston. Any sort of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

I'm not familiar with Boston, but I do frequent the ballet and opera here in Toronto. The clothing worn really runs the gamut. From jeans and runners to fancy dresses and long flowing mink coats. You'll likely be fine with what you've described.

Jeans are fine but they should be neat and not tattered. A white linen jacket over a lavender la coste shirt would be perfect. When entering, give attitude as if you are there to critique the dance.

btw, what's on the program. If it's your first ballet, I hope it is Giselle? A touching sad ending is always remembered better than a cliched happy one.

Is it the Ballanchine (La Valse, and....two others whose names escape me atm) or the Giselle? I've seen the posters and keep meaning to check the website. Might even try to get tickets to the Ballanchine if it's not too much money....

ETA: If it's this weekend, the Ballanchine? How was it? Because I looked...can't swing tomorrow night's and it's the last. Phooey. Can't afford Giselle either. I need to find a friend with the season tickets....
