Lori doing 2 contrasting style programs, with Kurt advising... oooo.. interesting interesting. Looks good so far, the fact there is choreography always helps. Please please let there be no miming, some Asian cliche and weird comedic moments that ruins the whole thing.

A month of choerography and training is drawing to a close.Thanks to the Chinese Figure Skating Association for giving me the opportunity to pepare for the new season in Canada. Thank you to Lori Nichols for meticulously choreographing two new programs of different styles
Thank you to Kurt Browing for participating with the choreography,
and for creating an exhibition program for me. Thank you to Tracey Robertson-Hanford for coaching me in footwork and skating skills, thanks to Lenore Kay for editing my new program music, thanks to rink manager Bob for providing the training location, thanks to zamboni driver Randy for his hard work every day. During this month there has been huge progress
and it's impossible to separate it from all your help. Lastly, thank you to my two coaches, my hard-working companions every day
Part of the reason I love Boyang so much is because his shown personality. That might not work for everybody, still, a happy, social guy is better in interaction than shy or introverted people. I wonder how far did he go with his English learning. I remember Orser talking about how difficult was teaching Yuzuru in the beginning, when the coach asked for something and got a different element instead. It is true, maybe Yusuru may not be very talented in languages, as even after so many years of living in Canada, he still has only a basic level of English. Misha Ge is on the opposite side from this point of view.

I think it will depend on how much he wants and manages to get out and assimilate to Toronto life (that isn't Chinatown). Yuzu is more of a home body so doesn't really do any of that, though he has said he wants to improve his English, so I imagine when he has other priorities besides competing he'll make that happen. Misha seems very good at Chinese but isn't his dad half and he grew up speaking it with his grandfather? His English (written at least) actually doesn't seem that fluent based on some of his social media posts though I have never heard him speak it. Still kudos regardless.
I envy those with a talent for languages, especially when they are so different. Spanish isn't so hard for me but learning Japanese is a challenge. Kostner is fluent in English and obviously Italian too, but I am curious how well she speaks German and French, though I'm betting just as good.
I'd not be worried at this point. Junhwan did quite well at the Olympics and Brian was very positive about him in interviews. If Brian is wondering if Junhwan and Stephen are going to become rivals in the future, it doesn't sound like he's not invested in Junhwan's future. Moreover, that ice show Brian was in charge of in South Korea headlined Junhwan.
Of course Javi and Yuzuru were very understandably at the top tier at TCC through to this season, but Gabby got a World medal, won Nats this past season and got a team OGM (she did well in the team event) while this process was going on, and both Stephen and Junhwan seem to be progressing nicely. If Junhwan stays healthy then I was expecting to see more positive progress in the coming season. So I'm glad they had him withdraw from Worlds and make sure everything's healed.
Brian was always very clear that he was planning to take on 1-2 new skaters after the Olympics, depending on Yuzu and Javi's plans. Now that Javi is scaling back (at most doing Euros and maybe a Challenger series competition or two to get seasoned), and with Elizabet almost certainly leaving, Brian has room for Boyang and Evgenia alongside Yuzuru. Jason was a surprise, but he will have a team looking after him, perhaps with Tracy going to bat for him, since she clearly very much wanted him to come.
Certainly I'd wait to see how the next season goes before being concerned. Brian, Tracy, and Lee are good at being flexible and arranging schedules to reflect changing realities. In the Oly year they hired ice time elsewhere to maintain the positive energy among the rinkmates and have said they'll continue that practice as needed. They are also for open communication, so if there are problems, we know that the team will do their utmost to head off serious problems with helpful solutions.

I don't get that feeling. I have been following this from the Jason Brown side of this and a lot do feel that there are kinda two tiers of Borser's priorities. The world medalist caliber skaters, and the GP medalist skaters. Borser priority most likely will be and in some ways should be on the world medalist skaters. The others are supported more by a support structure of many coaches and are fully able to thrive still. I am sure if/when Brown or Jun Hwan move up to more of world medal contenders, they will get more of Brian's attention. And honestly as a Jason fan non of this scares me or seems like a problem, so i see little reason to fear for Jun Hwan.

You're taking that from one of the comments he gave in the context of coaching Jason, right? I wouldn't assume that's what it means. Hanyu is his most high-profile student, and Jin and Evgenia are his two new ones, so it would make sense for him to just mention them.

It's a Chinese name. Just like it's with Japanese, you say the family name first.Stupid of me but I can't figure out if Jin is the second name or first. I thought Boyang is his first name but then I see other posters (e'g the post above) mention it as Jin was the first name. Could someone help to end the confusion once and for all

Thanks! Sounds beautiful... Now if understand correctly Boyang has the same problem as Gracie as their family names are Gold and gold seems to be elusive for both (so far)
Boyang has won the 4CC 18 gold.
And his name is closer to Yuna KIM's. Same root for the surname.
