I wonder if he'll end up packing all the quads he can pack into a program, a la Nathan, and simply forget the rest. I can certainly see some of the reasoning behind an approach like that.

I'd prefer for Boyang to rather focus on making his other jumps more solid. There was bit of a problem this season so far.

I agree with the head position - rather scary. Please don't overdo it. Please keep healthy & safe, Spidy! Your fans are all rooting for you at your next big international competition!

With Nathan Chen putting in 5 quads in the LP and the judges giving him the nod even in the PCs (I don't agree with Nathan's PCs - literally crossovers and jumps), all the other guys are upping their tech content and I guess that includes Boyang. Nevertheless, I do love that 4Lo, beautifully done, textbook and if put in, his tech marks will have the highest BV. All the best Spidy!

Edit: just checked - seems he isn't going to be at Winter Universiade. I'm actually quite happy about it, gotta keep his energy for the bigger comps!

Congratulations, Boyang! You kept fighting and now enjoy your well deserved break :) One thing I noticed when re-watching the videos from last season is, that Boyang now jumps really near the end of the rink, while last season he jumped and still had plenty of room left. Why is that? Usually skaters tend to jump closer to the walls when they loose confidence, but maybe boyang's SS and speed has improved so that he now is near the walls faster? Also, last year his jumps were more controlled and less high? That 4lutz-3toe at worlds sp was like chocolate ;) His coach doesn't seem to be very confident and assuring (he usually looks more stressed and nervous than Boyang, lol). I hope Boyang keeps hiss self confidence and doesn't start to think too much:slink:
And I hope next season Lori or maybe David Wilson (?? pretty please?) will give Boyang a better LP (maybe to something classical? I liked his junior sp in 2014).

Boyang looks SO good in this photo -- I love the plaid blue suit with the grey paisley tie and his hair is on point! He looks like a model. :love:

I just want him to bring this awesome fashion sense in his competitive costumes.
 
Boyang post lots of funny photos and ”Story“ on Insta.
Sometimes I wish someone could delete his Insta app so I may not die for laughing.
 
The finish was very close, and hotly debated, between the first two top finishers at AWG but congratulations to Boyang neverthless for a great performance tonight and the silver medal.
