I don't really want SA for him, it's not been the best event for him. Best would be NHK, but that won't invite him. So IdF?

This isn't the thing that's worrying, honestly. I do think there's more to it than "going to Orser", but he will definitely be working with him. The news might be getting delayed with all the drama. We did basically have confirmation from Zhao.

Boyang definitely has 2 tough assignments IMO. To be blunt, some skaters *really* lucked out with their feds getting them easy home GPs (*cough*Shoma&Nath*cough* - and Shoma even has a really easy second field), but ofc Boyang wouldn't get any such luck. Helsinki has easily the strongest Mens field IMO, followed by CoR & IDF... but I would have been very surprised had it been differently.
I'll just be happy for now that this means I can see him live again pretty soon

I'm just glad he's not going SA after his results from the past two seasons. Finland seems like a lucky place for him (but not as lucky as Taipei :agree2: ) but the competition man.... ugh. Shoma and Nathan definitely lucked out (if luck had anything to do with it).
Confession: I'm not looking forward to Boyang's programs this season. I feel as if I'm going to be VERY disappointed judging from the clips he's shown. I'm predicting over reliance on comic appeal and a not-well-constructed martial arts program with spastic movements in between. While Lori knows Boyang very well, I feel as she's not pushing to expose different themes in his skating.
But then again I want Boyang to skate a Blues for Kook and a James Bond-themed program so I'm not best person for this.
Please prove me wrong Boyang..... ;-;

I felt that way about Boyang's programs last year, at first. I thought Crouching Tiger was just boring and Star Wars was weird. But he ended up selling me on both programs. :thumbsup:
Can you at least wait until you know what music he's skating to?

I have no doubts that he will 100% sell those programs. I honestly think that he's one of the best skaters on the circuit than can get into a character and deliver a program with it.
I'm a paranoid over-thinker with a side of pessimism. It's what we do.
Set up yourself for disappointment then end up be surprisingly okay with the end result because it wasn't at all bad as you've imagined.

I feel you. It took me two whole seasons to appreciate his "How To Train Your Dragon". But he is a massive joy on ice so he could be his usual awkward self and I don't mind.

I liked the way Boyang was into the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, having watched the movie when it 1st came out. Cos he chose the music.
Star wars, I didnt like the way Lori Nichols patched together the different music parts.
With the coach change, I'm optimistic of a better overall approach. There are now different specialists who can regularly watch over different aspects of Boyang's skating.

I read somewhere he was supposedly spotted in Harbin not too long ago, by Chinese fans, but I have no idea how true that is. I really wished we could get some updates of any form soon "xD

Though that program was..... Lacking for lack of a better word.... He was so adorable yet determined for his senior debut. Furthermore, I actually like the HTTYD soundtrack so..
With the air a la mystique Boyang has for the entire off season, I won't be surprised if the next we see him is on The Ice( see what I did there
