Boyang Jin

Yep, that's what the last post said (I'm always impressed at how good Google Translate has gotten in the last year, even though I work on machine translation and know the technical reasons why). First post says that Boyang said that the two programs have very different styles.

Haha! Sometimes it still produces weird, very literal translations, though.

Yeah, it's still very much a work in progress, which hopefully means I'll get paid for a while.

Going back to Boyang, now that I think about it, the last post is a little ambiguous as to whether it's actual information or someone making a joke (stupid rusty Chinese). Since I haven't seen anything about the free skate on Japanese twitter yet, we should probably take that information with a grain of salt. Unlike the multiple tweets about Boyang air-guitaring.

Yeah, it seems they're joking. NVM then :palmf:

One of the links posted a little while back mentioned something about a jumping competition between Shoma and Boyang? Any news on that?

I'm just glad he actually went with an original (I realize there's a few versions of that song) and not some modern cover! I love the idea of hearing Peter Frampton. It's a great departure from his other peppy SPs, though right now he's still a bit cutesy with it at moments -- but I'm sure he'll develop the more rock character as the it goes on.

LOVE LOVE THE GOLD BLADES
i feel positive about this SP,
love the overall styling, including costumes (gloves, stripped white seen-thru the black etc.), matching edge work/choreo feel,
some creative ideas in stsq, e.g. twizzle matched electric guitar.
but a bit empty in-between and easy blade work.
Boyang needs better SS and blade work to make it flash.

Peter Frampton's is still a cover though. The original one was by the Beatles.

I don't think that'll be his costume. His costume is probably still being made and this was a stand in for the show. Don't think he performed the exact program as he would in competition either. His usual 4Lz+4T+3A was substituted for a 4T+3Lz+3A. It'll be interesting to see if that lutz becomes a quad in competition which means he has changed his layout.
Really love that he kept the flying camel into end pose. ^^ AND THE GOLD BLADES MUST BE PRESENT IN COMPETITION.
It looks like he has incorporated little transitions here and there and his 3A does look like it has more ice coverage though that can just be the camera angle.

Anyone spots any other changes/improvements in his skating?
