Boyang Jin

(I'm still holding out hope Boyangman might be in Yuzu's Ice Show, and I'm taking that as a positive sign. No bursting my bubble please [emoji23] )

Oh that would be amazing! It's not impossible, though, right? Since it's supposed to be like people who inspired Yuzu and he said multiple times he was inspired by Boyang's jumps? (Also that video where he said to Boyang "your jumps are amazing" [emoji23] )

That is my line of thought there too - so I really, really hope Yuzu thought of it too. And that little BoingBoing accepted!
It's 2 birds with one stone - we see him again, likely even Spiderman, and we might get more Zuzu-BoBo cuteness

There's actually a real possibility that he will be at Yuzu's show. He has an ice show in Korea five days after Ciontu and the cast of that ice show includes Plushenko and Misha with Brian directing that ice show. And we all know that it's been speculated that Plushenko and Misha have been invited to Ciontu. So why not throw Boyang in there too? After all Japan and Korea are neighbouring countries so there seems to be little to no problem over scheduling.

This is pretty much what I think is happening. It's all right there.

It's up to the organizers, but I just think it's set up in a way where it would seem strange if he weren't? I'm just glad he's getting to work with Orser in some capacity.

Yeah it'll be very strange if he weren't invited. It definitely is nice to see him work with Brian. Hopefully Brian can teach him a trick or two about controlling his speed and jumps during the show's rehearsal. Maybe Boyang can even go to TCC during the summer to train under Brian for some time if a coach change is off the table.

Anyway do we have any speculations over which GPs he might do next season? Cup of China is an obvious choice and I think Skate Canada might take him. But then I heard a rumour that the Chinese Fed is trying to make a bargain with Japanese Fed over Yuzu competing in CoC and Boyang and Sui/Han competing in NHK.

I heard rumors that JSF was making a deal with France to have Yuzu there, so I'm honestly not sure what to believe [emoji28] This GP series is gonna be interesting though, because both Boyang and Yuzu aren't seeded, so they will have to go up against Nathan/Shoma/Misha no matter what.

The French Fed was boasting about having Yuzu at IdF. I think they were the first to offer a deal to JSF but then the others caught wind of it and started making offers to JSF over Yuzu. At this point he can go to any GP series.

This GP series will be wild as hell though. USFS would want to protect Nathan so I doubt they would let Yuzu be in SA but Boyang has competed at SA before so they might pick him. With Patrick retiring, SC might get either Yuzu or Boyang or even both. CoR will take Mikhail obviously and since Mikhail can be a bit inconsistent (his 4lz and mental strength), they'll try to find a way to secure his spot with GPF. Shoma is a bit of a wild card because JSF might want Yuzu at NHK and that can hurt Shoma's chances of building a momentum. Add in Boyang and NHK will just be a bloodbath.

My guess for now is CoC and SA/SC

Yeah, that's what I think, too, but anything could happen, maybe even NHK bloodbath. JSF was the one who made the ladies CoC situation, so I wouldn't be surprised by anything :D

I can never forgive Japanese Fed for that. They could have had all three at the final to increase their chances of medal but no. Hopefully if there's to be NHK bloodbath, Boyang will come out of it unscathed and with the final in his hands.

Yes, hopefully, it was a sad final with none of my faves there (in men's). As long as he stays healthy, I believe he can do it [emoji4]

May the gold blades help Boyang get more golds

(And may they help him impress gold loving Yuzu :laugh2: )

I don't think he knows he's popular overseas, since he doesn't stalk the internet as much as Yuzu, plus the great firewall of China means he doesn't have twitter access all the time.

I hope he doesn't stalk the internet at all bc the comments sections on his Chinese social media accounts are littered with insults and character assassinations. This whole event is blown way out of proportion.
Sorry I know this is not a place for off-ice dramas, and he still has a lot of people supporting him, but I'm just really heartbroken reading those toxic comments.

Ugh. How quick people are to forget achievements. Only a month ago he was 4th at the Olympics, and the 4CC champion before that. People need to look at their own characters before assassinating the ones of someone they don't even know. I won't even be shocked if they start behaving all smiley and happy once he starts getting good results again.

I'm glad he's on a well-earned vacation then. He might not check anything till it ends, and hopefully it dies out by then.

There are a bunch of people spreading rumors of him falling on purpose during fs, and some people bought it because he "doesn't seem upset" about his performance.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever read. No one owes them any tears, and maybe they should stop projecting their own personality and disappointment onto someone else. People deal with loss differently, and only he knows his own state-of-mind. I found it to be extremely good sportsmanship, and my respect for him as a competitor grew seeing him taking it in stride and shrugging it off, instead of crying and being dramatic. His tears, if there were any, weren't for the world to see.

He wasn't good enough on one day. That's it. And his smile, to me, showed that he was willing to acknowledge it, move past it quickly, and work harder.
