Bunga pads riding up

Hi Skaters,

I realized today that my Bunga pads (ankle sleeve) ride up while I'm skating and it gets to the point that I have to re-tie my skate (landing leg) mid session because once the Bunga pad has risen up to a certain point, I need to tighten the boot more to get any heel lock. I don't try to pull them down mid-session, that feels pointless to me because they will just ride up again. Does anyone have a solution or ideas? The Bunga pads are fairly new, just bought them 3 months ago after losing my previous pair.

I have very thin ankles and am hesitant to skate w/o the pads because every time I have, I end up with cuts on the outside of my ankles which take weeks to heal.

Thank you!

Are you using the 5" long sleeves? I don't know whether Bunga makes 10" long sleeves [ETA: Just checked; they do], but Silipos does. These are long enough for you to pull a portion under your heel. That will lock the sleeve in place. You can trim the length if needed; easily cut with scissors.

Bunga and Silipos also make shaped gel "booties" in various configurations that combine ankle and heel coverage (as well as other portions of the foot in various combos). You should check those out as well.
