Secondini has done an interview with Carolina Kostner for RaiSport.

A rapid translation cause I'm with the smartphone.

She said she's already at work since morning, results are not what she expected but she's very confident she will improve every day. Everything is in in the right place, now.

Olympics seemed out of reach last year but now it's becoming real. She think she have enough time to fix everything before the Olympics. She will talk with her team to better comprehend what went wrong but she feels very confident and happy.

Lot of people ask about her age, but she feels like a 15yo at her first European competition.

Finlandia is one I event I’d love to attend..I’m so jealous.

I really like the photo where it looks like they are announcing the skaters

Finlandia is my favourite competition... :-D Good arena, seats right down to the ice, good atmosphere, good lighting, often encounter the skaters around the arena... and the times I've been, there's always been a great lineup of competitors. And Finland is beautiful! My only gripe is, it's becoming pretty expensive...

And yes, that photo was taken when the skaters were lined up, having their names announced, before the 6-minute warmup...

If I get it right, Caro will start breaking her medal records tomorrow. Team event, seems like. :)

Italy reached the second stage of the team competition and although the team didn't get medals they were incredible, in all categories

I loved Carolina's FS suit  , some commentators said that "she was very cautious in her presentation, maybe because she is the only skater who has competed in the two programs while other countries designated two skaters for the senior lady category"

Amazing as always, Carolina :cheer:

Just to let you know that the Ski Jumping portion of the first Nordic Combined competition is scheduled to start in 5 minutes (but things are running slightly behind schedule due to the wind earlier). And Carolina's relative, Aaron Kostner, will be the third to jump.

I haven't yet established what way he is related to Carolina and Isolde, just that he is.

Bearing in mind that Aaron only made his World Cup debut in December, it is a great achievement in itself that he has been selected for the Olympics so soon.

For more info on the Men's Normal Hill competition, see this post:

:cheer: ALL THE BEST AARON!!! :cheer:

Sorry in case it was already discussed but interesting point:

Dr. Judit Fürst (former ISU judge and standard commentator at ESP HUN) speculated Kostner breaking up with Mishin 2 months before the Olympics to stay more in Oberstdorf is a fishy reason at best - according to her, it was most likely the RUS fed telling papa Mishin he can't coach her anymore as she's posing a real threat to Med/Zagi now that her Lutz and Flip are back.

You know I'm a huge fan of Caro, and I kant wait to see her Corea Medal.

STILL... seeing this from Russia's perspective, I hope what you wrote is true.
May sound a bit odd, but... ja, in the Olympic year I would forbid coaches to train "foreign athletes".

Medal Week Has Started For Caro.

Hope she'll wear the "kermit" costume for the medal ceremony, and the dress for her long program. :)

I tried to ask Ms Secondini if it's possible; let's see what she answers. :)

I hope she medals. In whatever costume.

And even if she does not medal... she already made history and created lots of performances for us to watch and enjoy.

Best of Luck Caro in the SP! I look forward to your beautiful skating! GO Caro!

The Medal gets closer and closer... onto the 50th! She believes it, and so do I (like I stated).

AND... I wouldn't be so sure this will be her last Oly.
