What in the world is going on with Czisny, it looks like 4 falls. Bebe had 3. That is just too much. Did they manage any jumps? Could you imagine these two on a world team together.

Congrats to YuNa, Caroline, Carolina, and Fumie my goodness from 11th to 4th. Thanks for all the reports, sounded like quite the splatfest. Great score for YuNa can't wait to see her LP.
The Ice
If the ice was soggy, the skaters couldn't get enough speed to make their jumps... or couldn't get a reliable toe pick. Whatever.
Yu-Na is, my guess, probably the skater most likely to have practiced in poor conditions.
Caroline's jumping style - lower with fast rotations - held up in bad conditions.
Caralina already skates with so much speed that the slow down from the ice conditions affected her less.
Fumie skated earlier so perhaps the conditions were a bit better for her.
Just my guesses. I can't watch any of this stuff live - don't have the time. I'd love to see videos if someone would post the links or provide a means for me to search for them.

Yuna did not get any -GOE for her technical elements.
she only got a level l for her step sequence
Her base value is 56.56 and she got 65.56 for the TES.
Caroline
her flip and lutz were downgraded, although her 3-3 was ratified (yey. if only she can go to worlds, i bet she can place higher than emily)

I thought whatever problems Bebe and Alissa were facing in the past due to nerves or whatever might be over this season. Guess not. 3 falls for Bebe and 4 for Alissa? I wonder why they can't over their nerves.

Thanks for the link. Very nice program, beautiful jumps. YuNa seems very satisfied with her performance.

It looked to me to be a right edge lutz. The solo loop jump impressed me (I'm not overwhelmed with prerotated loops jumps inside combintion). The layback camel spin was incredible. No one can get in that position the way she did.
I also liked her Change-Edge-Spiral where she changed edge before grasping her free leg.
The routine is well done but YuNa has to get more with the music, imo. She could also use a ballet barre and work out a turn-out in the knees and for a pointed toe.
I haven't seen the rest of the ladies but I am sure she deserved the gold.

so Zhang will go to Turin.. this is so huge for such a young skater.I'm impressed, though I think she has to work a lot on jumping technique and speed!

Yuna uses a male jumping technique-huge vaulting height and fast spin. (At least prior to her back injury). I would assume narrow hips and shoulders allow for this. With the exception of Ito, Yuna is the greatest jumper I have ever seen.
Zhang: I love her contortion moves, but back contortion is something you are either born with or you are not-and while I love watching this "cirque soliel" on ice, her jumping technique is never going to be at the Mao, Yuna or Miki level. I much prefer Mirai who seems to be more of the whole package.
Emily, Bebe, and Alyssa, it is time to move on and allow for the next generation.
