Some wonderful media planning happened that has COI and Celtic Women Performances the same night here in Denver. I would be under the impression that a lot of the same crowd would be drawn to these events and feel they both will get smaller attendance due to this. Oh well, I know which I would rather see;)

What we need is one of those "Kristi Yamaguchi and Friends meet the Celtic Women" Somebody call Steve Disson!

Hee! Plushenko could skate accompanied by that violinist in the diaphanous dress who was leaping about the stage in the last CW special.
But nobody gets to do "You Raise Me Up", okay? I've reached the point where the only thing raised by that song is my lunch. ;)

I love the song, when Josh Groban sings it with a choir behind him

I'm tired of all of ABC's top ladies skating to it to

as for the same interest... I wouldn't be torn at all... I'd go to Champions On Ice - but only if Melissa and Denis were skating... otherwise I wouldn't bother with either COI or the Celtic thing...

Biran Boitano's holiday show last year featured Celtic Women.

Caroline Zhang skates to Celtic Women's version of You Raise Me Up.

I love their version of May It Be, but Someday... one of my favorite songs... I just don't like when a solo artist performs a song meant for a quartet LOL. Particularly one as amazing as All 4 One.

I like Celtic Woman, and am hoping to see them when they come to Philly on June 23. We have threater tickets that afternoon, so if we can get general admission tickets that evening (the venue is an open air concert pavillion), and the weather is good, we'll try to go. ;)

So here is the "million dollar question.

If COI and Celtic Women were in town at the same time, who would you go see?

OK, if I had to choose, I would go for Celtic Woman this time. Now if I had to choose between SOI & Celtic Woman, I'd have to go for SOI.

 Gail!!!!!!

Well I guess Redrocks will be full and Pepsi will not be.

Oh yah, did I mention their show was at one of the most famous venues for musical concerts in the world? It really is an amazing Amphitheater. The sound quality and the view of the city behind the stage.... Ya, not a good day for COI to be in Denver.

But some of us have stronger alliances than others .... ;) :p

Sean, isn't Redrocks the venue where John Tesh did his concert a few years back (the one they showed on PBS)? Looks like a gorgeous place - the red rocks of the Western USA to begin with! I was pretty impressed with Celtic Woman in their recent PBS special. The ladies are quite talented, and the castle background was pretty spectacular.

Re: strong alliances  we've been going to COI since 1988 (when it was called the "Tour of Olympic & World Champions"), so I would say we're pretty loyal, and we do try to support lots of reasonably local events. Not apologizing here, We  our figure skating, but we do have other (especially musical) interests as well. Decisions, decisions ...

 I was so trying to be funny:agree: Sorry I should have typed J/K instead of "";) :p "" Sometimes I think that I am being funny when I say something that is the furthest thing from what is really true.

Sean, no offense taken. :) I figured you were joking all along!

Well, I'm editing this message on 6/23/07 because tonight's the night that Celtic Woman is coming to Philly! The weather should cooperate, so hopefully we'll get to see/hear these lovely ladies tonight.
