Compliment another GSer!

Gail, I agree kudos to all the members mentioned. One of the people who helped me a lot when I first came to GS was Toni. I hope all is well with her and I miss her comments a lot...she always brought a new perspective to the conversation.

Special thanks you Gail (iluvtodd) and Grace (merrywidow) for keeping the games going and teaching me new words and stumping me on some!! You're the best.

Aw ... thanks!

Toni is very involved with mushing and her photography business. She is very active on facebook and Instagram. Once in a while she drops by here at GS.

Yes, I miss Toni here as well. So glad she keeps up with things on FB & Instagram, though!

I'd just like to repeat my initial sentiment that ruffledgrouse is a joy in the pbp threads & I appreciate their presence so much

The same can be said for Meoima, but I have not seen her around lately

Thanks for the mention: dorispulaski, karne, Sugarpova, & CaroLiza_fan (you're a great friend, too! and we like the same skaters ;) )

I appreciate the mods for all their efforts in making this community what it is: dorispulaski, Newbiespectator, Mrs. P, Mathman, & gsk8.

Definitely enjoy satine94, sequinsgalore, & ruffledgrouse during all the PBPs...

To StitchMonkey for being near the top of my 'Most PMed Users' list.

To TheGrandSophy for your recent kind words.

To Sam-Skwantch for his humour, and leading the way with video editing on GS.

To CutieP for keeping the Elena R. fan fest moving along.

To golden411 for helping provide information in easy-to-read and easy-to-find formats.

To yyyskate for being a generally awesome person.

To karne for her abrasive personality on the boards.

oh & Sandpiper is back & Im happy about it! :cheer2: Missed you!

I always enjoy reading Sam-Skwantch for his objective perception and wit, friendliness in comments:) Besides we share the love to the same skaters, which kinda helps too:yes: The same goes to Alba.
I also like CaroLiza_fan and sabinfire for being such good Liza supporters on this forum - without you there would be less defending her and finding good words when needed, that's coming from a native Russian speaker: at times it's quite difficult to do this, having English as the second language.
Thanks for Mathman's calm and wisdom:)
And last but not least, Russian speaking squad on this forum:yay: I'm happy that this forum got these wonderful additions, like Sugarpova, Alexrus and Snow63

Satine94 does such a good job of keeping the standings posted as events are underway. If I miss an event and go back and read the thread it sheds an interesting perspective in relation to the scores and is an added aspect when trying to get a feel for an event. If I'm lucky enough to watch an event then it's always nice to know the current standings without having to open another window or click back to the ISU site.

Greatest invention of all time: Vuvuzela Crematorium!

I could list numerous posters but I'm trying to limit to one at a time but I'll sneak one more in

Thank you Koatcue for the nice words and for starting my favorite fan fest! You are a saint and your love of some of my favorite skaters is heartwarming. :yay:

Thank you :cheer: Go Russian speaking quad! ;)

And thanks to everyone who mentioned me. I'm honestly surprised and happy about it! I think I blushed every time I've seen my nickname in this thread :o:

I want to complement so many people here, but I'm afraid that if I will start I will forget someone I want to complement for sure, and I will be feeling bad about it. So I'll just say thank you to ALL the members here, each of you contribute to community, every single post is a contribution.

There are so many people that I love in this place. The list is long. First of all I would like to thank all those in my friend list. :love:All fans participating in the topic of Yulia, Ruslena, Mao, Stolbova&Klimov, Voronov and Gachinski. These are the topics I participate more frequently therefore I get to know these users more. Special thanks to moviebuff and witcher for making me lol and smile with their wonderful and funny gifs of Yulia. To Unite for her beautiful fan videos and sisinka for her great and detailed analysis in Ice Dance. A great thanks to Snow63, borzaya, Fayruza, [email protected], AlexRus for translating russian articles and giving us info about Russian skaters. I can't thank you enough for that.

Anyway, it's easy to thank people with whom you agree and have a shared passion about some skaters. So, I would like to use this opportunity to thank those with whom I don't always (or never:biggrin:) agree, but which opinions I held in high regard nonetheless: dorispulaski, not only for the huge and wonderful job she has done with this forum but also for the love and the knowledge that she has about Ice Dance and my buddie WeakAnkles for being so genuine and fun. :) Karne for showing a strong personality and never afraid of speaking her own mind and os168 for his/her (?) irony.

Last but not least, my best buddies MK's Winter, alithia and Meoima. Love you guys.

Thanks Alba. I have more fun disagreeing with you than anyone else! Yer a lemon (trust me, she knows that's a compliment). :)

Actually you can learn so much from someone you totally disagree with--like sisinka. She certainly knows her technique, which is helpful for someone who still has no clue what a choctaw is. Now if only she would finally admit that technique in any of the arts isn't everything--or necessarily even the most important thing--that would be a personal triumph!

And sometimes when you talk to someone off the boards in a PM, you can find out they are indeed A Good Egg (like Snow63). I highly recommend it. Just make sure you empty your mailbox now and then!

A humongous, earth-shattering cheer for the three women who really keep this ship sailing, bumpy waters and all: dorispulaski, Mrs P (who else could talk me into scoring dance when my dander is that up?), and gsk8. Brava! And a big thank you to Mao for posting youtube links. For those of us who are about one step up the tech ladder from two tin cans and some twine, you are a gift from heaven.

Plus, I really want to give Major Kudos to every single person on here who has spoken up when they see someone posting a misguided or outright bigoted comment. Warms my big gay heart.

A final massive shoutout to my gay compadre, Ziggy, whom I miss, especially every time I watch an Ice Dancing event. You are not forgotten.

Yes it is a compliment, and you are my strawberry. Actually now that I think of, we do agree on lot of things. Just not always but that would be boring. ;)

p.s. I forgot Mao for all the work she does with posting all the youtube videos. I very much appreciate that and to Ziggy. I didn't have time to know him better but thanks to him I got to know many junior skaters and especially Gubanova which I love. I will always remember him.

To Johar for all the horse racing updates!

Yes, again you are quite right about Johar, she has made horse racing exciting and I do thank her for all the updates. Another person who gives their unbiased perspective on subjects is heyang. I love reading both Johar and heyang's comments.

Thanks to sabinfire for mentioning me.
And thank you for your many contributions to the GS community.
I find your practical tips very useful -- such as the one from you (and Princessroja) during Nebelhorn that embedded streaming from Dailymotion can be a better bet than the streaming on the Dailymotion site itself. It helped me again during the Autumn Classic.
And of course, I appreciate your videos very much.
Hope you have a great time at Skate America :). Same to everyone else going to Milwaukee.

... I could list numerous posters but I'm trying to limit to one at a time but I'll sneak one more in  ...

So many compliments for others posted here take the words right out of my mouth .
I too am taking the approach of complimenting a limited number of fellow members at a time :). [And of coming back to make multiple posts in this thread .]

Thx to Sam-Skwantch for broadening our horizons with your wide-ranging interests. (Loved your blimp question.)

And thanks to Upnights @michlmint for lots of great photos and videos from comps (including practices). The Autumn Classic is the most recent example, but I do remember others.

I just remembered somebody else to thank for being very, very funny in his writing style and making me laugh even when I disagree with an opinion he is expressing- WeakAnkles.

His description of Kevin Aymoz's FS and more expansively French skaters as a whole made me cry I laughed so much! :laugh2:

what a nice thread!:cheer2:

I liked quite a few comments from the Rippon interview thread from 4everchan (tho I cant stand PChan so its hard for me to compliment this user ))))))

-os168, 4everchan, and Snow63 and for their upright opinions and fun quibbles. Y'all are bunch of entertaining people to read opinions from.

waaaa i didn't expect those thanks :) well, you are very welcome Sugarpova and sunny_stars

Sugarpova, I appreciate this cheer a lot considering you don't like my boy :) hahaha :)

I think there are a lot of people who make this forum a place where I feel like coming back... on top of my head for either their generous posting, fun threads, entertaining banter, positiveness, or technical insight: Skatefiguring, Mathman, skatingfan4ever,satine94, os168, ruffledgrouse, gkelly, canadianskaterguy, meoima, newbiespectator, layback11,tulosai,Daniel1998

Oh goodness thank you. I do want to update you. Our scientific team continues to probe The Mysteries Of French Skaters Arm And Hand Gestures And Their Relationship To UFOs, but alas, we are still unable to crack the code. We do continue to keep a 24 hour watch on Laetitia Hubert, who appears to be the original source of said gestures.

We'll keep trying though. :)
