Compulsory Dance

Belbin/Agosto

a lot of face stroking on Belbin

beautiful unison. lovely soft edges. skaters are close together. free legs beautifully matched. lots of speed and flows. they are happy with their performance.

score: 37.63. first~

The Kerrs just finished.

34.37, currently the first.

That's AWESOME. & Thank you so much for the reports.

I'd be interested in personal calls, do you agree with results?

Have Coppley and her man improved? Are they ahead of the French number 3's?

D/s

I would put them ahead of BA. technically superb.

1. Good starting pose
2. they exude confidence.
3. very light quality in first two patterns.
4. good unison.
5. ends in a style.
6. great quality in terms of edge.

score: 38.49. well deserved!

Oh, noone but the top three are getting ahead of Carron & Jost! They've even got a slight lead on Samuelson & Bates. C&S are below 30.
D&S a little less than a point ahead of B&A. Anybody's competition at this point.

D/S were just lovely! They always have wonderful CDs and I loved their opening here. Wonderful carriage, very elegant and good unison. I think I could watch them do CDs all day.

B/A were wonderful as well, but I still prefer D/S.

D/S were totally gorgeous. B/A were good but DelSchoes blew them away. Lovely speed, expression, edging, etc... I thought Tanith was a bit OTT for this dance, but overall they have improved.

I also enjoyed Samuelson and Bates a lot. Obviously, not top tier yet, but they were great.

I just watched this on the WNBC 4.4 channel on FIOS.

B&A looked good, but D&S just a bit better. Cute opening pose too.

I agreed with the standings other than the Kerrs. After Carron&Jost and S&B, I thought their CD looked rough and like work.

I also thought the Canadian team was better than S&G and R&S.

Lovely performance by D/S.. B/A were my favorite followed by the Kerrs.

For those having trouble with IceNetwork, there are 2 little speeds 400 and 700. Try them both, I believe one will work if not the two of them.

As to the contest.

All the couples looked grand in that sophisticated Viennese Waltz. I would look to the edges because I think that is the most important factor in the Waltz. While I am not a big fan of B&A, I would say they had the deepest edges and leans of the couples. It is a European dance and the European couples looked the best at doing it. How all this plays out in scoring, I leave to the judges.

All the teams including the first group looked great and all had excellent taste in costumes.

There's only 0.86 difference between DelShoes and B/A. That would have been more than a point in the past. B/A have improved!

I was on the pbp thread over at FSU. After the technical glitches Icenetwork worked just fine for me. Enjoyed the CD...agree with the placements, mostly. Wouldn't have had Allie and Michael last, though. I liked them better than both C/S and R/S. Glad to see Evan and Emily placing so well. They were beautiful.

Same; as I did with Jane and Todd, although they lacked speed at moments. I thought Pernelle and Mattheiu's score should have been a little higher as well; maybe a little closer to 3rd than to 5th; really enjoyed their CD; they were the only team in all black!

I missed the CD live- but icenetwork finally came up. Even though I was annoyed- technical glitches happen- and the coverage is awesome for the low price.

Icenetwork had great coverage after the technical problem got fixed.

I thought everyone did really well in the CD, I figured Delobel & Schoefelder were going to be in the lead since they excel in the CD usually :) My boyfriend HATES the CD but wanted me to let him know when Tanith & Ben were doing theirs and he came in and sat down to watch them:biggrin:

My favorite CDs
Delobel & Schoenfelder:love:
Belbin & Agosto:love:
Kerrs:love:
Samuelson & Bates:clap:

I cant wait to see the ODs:rock:

Last year B&A barely beat out Pechalat and Bourzat. This year they are pushing Delschoes. Note that both their TES and PCS marks have gone up, particularly the tech mark!

Their work with Linichuk is already beginning to show-particularly in their leg lines in the high kicking movements.
