I'm off to watch both for comparisons-maybe I'll just keep it to the top 5 of each.

Edit: The number ones in both competitions...
DelSchoes: everything is just so effortless; they float across the ice with nice, crisp movements. Like casken said, they were a touch faster than Davis/White and they had better posture and usion. Their expression was top notch as always, but I laughed a bit at their portrayal and the fact that the thought of Schoenfelder looking like a vampiric pirate came to mind. In some ways it captured the Paso Doble, but in other ways it didn't IMO.
Davis/White: the strengths that DelSchoes have going for them are areas that Davis/White are working on to improve, and you can kind of tell that here. The improvement is obvious, but you can also see them thinking about it; it's not quite effortless yet. I did think they showed great expression and presented the most clearly traditional Paso Doble of all the teams, but they said they could skate it with more attack, more speed. So according to them, we haven't seen the best they can do this. I do like the smoothness that was starting to come out more in this CD-it's not always their in their other programs, but it's increasing IMO.

IMHO, as good as D/W and P/B were at SC, D&S's Paso here was superior. They weren't much faster than D/W, but the speed was more effortless, and the posture, carriage, unison, and closeness were more consistent. The hold looked more secure as well. If you watch D/W and then D&S directly back to back it's more noticeable.

I haven't seen F&S or K&K so I can't compare them.

I got the impression that Meryl was definitely channelling Krylova, when she thought about it. However about half way through the program she reverted to Meryl and then switched back. I thought the tension was quite good, the stepping very, very crisp indeed. I thought it was a good interp.

P&B were quite good, but the multiple handclaps before the dance rather than seeming flamenco (as I am sure they were intended) seemed mostly last claps & fistbumps before we go out to play basketball. They needed to be more rhythmic or something.

However, D&S had better lean/edges through the double step and I'll agree on the effortless part. However the interp was a little ???? for me. I'm not sure what the sword thing was doing in the paso or the pirate coat.

The microphone at TEB was closer to the ice and you could tell that Kerrs and Delschoes were quiet on the blade while C&P were loud enough to drown out the music in sports. F&S were almost as loud. That is an effect I dislike quite a lot. I like skaters to be quiet on the blade.

I thought Delschoes were considerably better than D&W but that F&S were definitely not. I thought F&S were more at the level of P&B, just a bit behind D&W, although both teams had a decent interp.

Speed and timing are hard to judge from video, particularly internet video.
