The screenon my computer has a few dark blue blobs around the perimeter and a group of dark blue fine lines? Does anyone know what this is? Thanks!

Are the "blue blobs" located near / in proximity to the speakers or magnets of some sort?

Hi Sean! No. The first time I noticed them was at the bottom righthand side of the screen. There was an area about five inches wide of very fine lines that extended up several inches irregularly. They first appeared after my computer had been turned for about 12 hours. After I turned it back on they gradually disappeared in about an hour except for the top of a blob is visble in the extreme lower right corner and another almost middle ways at the very bottom. That was about a month ago. Now today a blob has appeared in the upper left corner about 1/3 of an inch wide and abou 3/4 of an inch long and then again 2 1/2 inces from the left edge (still at the top) there are about 15 fine lines anywhere from just visible to about a half an inch long. The blob in the upper left corner looks like a bunch of th blue lines right beside each other appearing almost soled with short little black lines on top of the blue ones. It is a Toshiba notebook. I have checked at Notebook Forums but can't find anything. It is still under warranty for a couple of more weeks. Thanks Sean.

Hi Patti,
Oh, it is a LCD screen. It sounded like a magnetic issue on a solid state.
I would had referred you to...

Funny how the guy leaves the spade drill bit exposed, like he is going to drill right into the screen. LOL

Since that is the case (it's a Laptop screen) it sounds like it is "bad." I don't know why and could only guess why, but everything I would speculate would say the screen is bad. Sounds like what happens when they get smooshed - front of screen pushed back toward inside of screen, but ..????? I don't know.

Some of the people at STK loved Toshiba's Laptops, so it might be just unlucky. Hope they honor the warranty, they should.

That used to happen with stand-alone monitors. It usually got progressively worse and the only thing to do was replace the monitor.

Thanks guys!   I will call the lovely Toshiba company and pray that the warranty covers this.

Good to hear, so you don't need to transfer data because they are just replacing the screen?

Glad they honored the warranty.
