Hi guys! Another recent post, I just have a lot of questions haha! I started skating when I was 13 (16 now) and have my intermediate MITF, prebronze dances, and prelim freestyle and am working on my Novice moves. There's a synchro team near my arena (called Skyliners) and I was wondering if I could possibly join it (once I pass my Novice moves) or if they would restrict the teams to newcomers/people who aren't as good as the others. Do you guys think I'm too old to join the novice team, or should I wait until I pass my senior moves? I plan to test novice pretty soon (June ish).I really want to be a part of a team, but I don't know what the audition requirements are like.
Also, for those who do synchro---I have a few questions: what's your practice schedule like? how does competition season work for synchro skaters? I've never done a figure skating competition (I was waiting until I passed higher level dances). Do they do off ice conditioning as a group or do we just do it individually? Are freestyle elements still required?
Thank you all!
