Kristi was very nice tonight, I wasn't overly impressed with anyone tonight, but I love how clean she seems to be...

and her dress was beautiful!
 
Kristi is so good technically that the judges are reduced to such nitpicking as, "your head is too far forward in the prominade hold."

But the judges also want to see some over-the-top emoting. As a skater, Kristi was never a drama queen like Oksana Baiul or Pasha Grischuk. Her attempts at being "angry" with her partner were pretty funny, actually. I also liked her comments to the effect that, in skating, even when you are performing to dramatic angst-flled music, you still want to give a little smile and a silent fist-pump when you land that big techincal element.

Mario was awful -- showing the effects of not having any time to rehearse.
 
I saw her performances on youtube and she is awesome. :love::love:

Is there paso doble scheduled? I don't think she will have problems with this dance, since she did programs to spanish traditional music such as Malaguena and Valencia. So she has some basics. Even waltz, cause she performed on Danube Waltz. I know it's not the same, but still.

Kristi also did a solo tango on an SOI tour.
 
So, Kristi is supposed to be a champion in hot dog eating contests? (April fool!)

I was glad that Melissa was saved, but sorry to see Steve Guttenberg go. He was having the time of his life.

How about the expert on relationships, "Dr. Pepper" (Dr. Pepper Schwartz) saying that Kristi and Mark were the best matched couple, based on personality traits? :yes:

You said it all right there!! The guy who took this seriously from Day One has been nothing but respectful, classy and also poking fun at himself in a good way goes home and the one who could care less stays!?!

I'm not that impressed at the moment w/the way things shook down at all this week.
 
Pretending for the sake of the discussion, that DwtS is an actual competition, I'd say the one who poses a real challenge to the obvious favorite Kristi would be Shannon Elizabeth.
Besides being gorgeous and apparently having a lot of fun and great attitude, she's also really good!
Plus, she has the perfect partner, Derek Hough is possibly an even better choreographer than his sister, and that's saying something!
They look very good together, they seem to 'click' , much like Julianne clicked with Apolo.
Biggest surprise is Priscilla Presley, she's doing a great job.
The radio guy needs to go.
 
The only thing wrong with the Shannon Elizabeth / Derek Hough pairing is that he is too small for her. Her legs go up from the ground to about the level of Derek's belly-button.

Shannon is definitely the most improved, though. After her first dance I thought she would be the next lady to go after Monica Seles and Melissa (who has a lot of personality but can't seem to remember her routines.)

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. (Or, as they say in sports, it's easier to get to the top than to stay there.) I don't see how Kristi can get much better than she alrteady is, but the others have a shot at catching up.
 
I agree being perfect - or nearly so - early on might bite Kristi in teh booty later on... but I have faith

I LOVED the E! News cam... that was awesome... the Yamalicious was hysterical I was rolling this morning when I saw it.

Perhaps she is one of the very, very rare ladies who do NOT demand the guy be at least a foot taller than them.....
Miracles do happen on the odd occasion.

I think they look GREAT together, as opposed to some of those ridiculous pairings where the girl looks more like a doll being tossed around (or trying to backlead....) King Kong........
 
As per the judges, Kristi has not been perfect - she hasn't gotten a perfect 30, yet. They say they want to feel real emotion from Kristi and that's when she'll get the 30. I did feel that the tango was performed instead of 'felt'

I don't think ballroom requires that the male be a foot taller - if anything, a similar height is better for the purposes of line. Clyde the Glide was paired with one of the shorter pro dancers and [even if he had danced well] they would have looked awkward because he could not extend his long arms out to accommodate her shorter ones. However, Shannon and Derek appear of equal height when she is in heels and I think this can make any under-his-arm-turns look awkward since there is less 'clearance.'

I thought this past week was a let down.

BTW, it's Marissa - not Melissa. No offense to anyone here :), but I was just on another board where people were claiming to love Melissa or Janet. I don't see how you can claim to be a fan if you can't get her name - Marissa Jaret Winokur - correct when it is spelled out every week on the show.
