Dancing with the Stars -- Vote for Kristi!

By tonight we will know whether Kristi's husband, hockey player Bret Hedican, will be joining Kristi in LA any time soon.

Hedican's team, the Carolina Hurricanes, lost last night. Now they have to wait for the game tonight between Washington and Florida to see whether they will make the playoffs or not. (If Washington loses in regulation, the Hurricanes are in. If it's a tie or if Washington wins, then Washington gets the last spot and Bret's season is over.)

Chiming in a few days late to say I TOTALLY STRONGLY COMPLETELY agree with this. I wanted Adam to go the first elimination and Penn to stay. Penn at least looked like he was having fun, and to me his skills were no worse (esp at that point) than Adam's. I didn't think Adam improved this week as much as the judges seemed to think he did, either. And the way Adam ALWAYS insists on inserting some "aside" remarks that only he thinks are funny -- arrgh! Please, judges and public, send him home next week!

I'm probably repeating myself -- I didn't read all the way back through the thread to see how much I've trashed Adam already -- sorry if I've been a bore, but that guy bugs me!
 
according to her facebook she will be dancing first tonight.... yay! I'm not stuck watching everyone else lol
 
I usually tune in at the end of the program to catch Kristi. Thanks for the info. Otherwise I would have missed her.
 
I didn't realize that Kristi danced with an injury. She did well. Still needs to be a bit more over the top to match some of the previous champions.

I enjoyed her dancing early - didn't have to rush to get all my phone votes in tonight.
 
Geez, after all the hours I spend on this board, I missed the note that Kristi was dancing first ... and I missed her dance! I was cleaning up from dinner and turned it on at 8 minutes after the hour, thinking I'd just miss the opening production number or something. There were Kristi and Mark, getting their feedback from the judges .. waahh! :cry::cry:

Are they still replaying the dances on the results show? I hope so. Last week I just turned on the results show for the last couple of minutes, because I detest how they draw it out so.

Anyways, their outfits looked great and I'm sure Kristi was good.

The judges were a little happy with the 10's tonight. Jason is my fave after Kristi but with that obvious stumble, however good the rest was, I think 9's were more appropriate. Gee, judging controversy, what a concept! ;) And there were some really appealing Viennese waltzes -- loved Marlee's and Shannon's.
 
Jason's football buddies are going to have a field day teasing him. He was great. (Not Kirsti-great, but great.)

Kristi never looked more beautiful. Amazing dress!
 
Is it Derek Hough so dances with Shannon? - he is so cute! (and for some reason he reminds me of Scott Hamilton lol)

I didn't like Kristi this much as in previous weeks, the program was ho hum for me choreography wise, but that's just me... she was still very good...

I liked Shannon's waltz, that first part when she was holding her skirt/scarf made me think she was Cinderella at teh ball... so pretty!
 
Derek and Julianne are both adorable. Pricilla Presley is just creepy..................sorry Elvis fans. Kristi did look beautiful. I know that it was for the Tango but those curls plastered to her face last week looked like worms crawling on her. Marlee is my favorite. Marissa annoys me. Can't get into any of the guys this year.
 
I think the only reason Adam hasn't gone home yet is that Julianne has a pretty big fan base and viewers want to keep watching her!

That is an interesting point. As the show goes on, the dancers are becoming bigger celebrities than the celebrities.
 
as well they should, aside from a couple (Kristi being one) most of the stars made their name eons ago, or haven't yet really hit the big time... so it makes sense that they end up getting surpassed lol

Re height differences, it's best for Smooth/Standard that the gentleman be a few inches taller than the lady. In Rhythm and Latin, it's prefered they be fairly close in height. Gorilla/flea pairings like Pairs skating are pretty rare, and the only one I can think of with a significant amount of success are Andre Gavrilline and Elena Kryuchkova (Latin division.) A major height difference in Smooth and Standard would mean matching lines and stride length would be borderline impossible, and in Latin it would just look strange.

I've found relative build to be more important--I have a hard time doing Smooth and Standard with a long-waisted partner. Our centers of gravity are in different places. My rhythm/latin pro, on the other hand, has similar proportions to me (short-waisted, long legs in relation to the torso) and I have an easier time connecting .
 
Just a heads up - Kristi and Mark are scheduled to be on the Ellen show this coming Monday, April 14th!

and I don't get why she inherited his fans... lol...
