All skaters who train in Tutberidze team name her Panik. Now all the people from the world of figure skating named her Panik. It's a well known fact.

I see that you have a bit of a fantasy about how well known she is globally.

So what? It is pretty usual that you shorten a name to some obvious nickname like Zagi, Panik or Radi.
It would be funny if they would start call Zagi "Hamster" or Panik "go-go" since she likes to dance.

Dasha likes when she's named Panik.

Tell what you want about domestic inflation, but the moment this girl gets out to an international competition she receives her personal best score.

Alas, even in the second half of last season, she became an outcast in her own country from the Russian Fed part. 197 points in Sofia are a clear proof of this.

By the way, who has told you that Dasha did better than Nastia Gubanova? Haven't seen any videos from test skates but people said at the time that Nastia was amazing which is why she got 2 JGP spots even though her last season wasn't great and she didn't do very well at the Junior Nationals.

Considering this season Dasha clearly is better than Nastia. Of course, PCS-wise Nastia is uncomparable to any other Russian junior maybe except Polina and even most of the seniors, but we are talking about sport: here the fact that Dasha skated ALL her competitions (5 at least+Open Skates) with back-to-back clean SP AND LP, and Nastia did not do both clean SP and LP in any competition. Dasha, in fact, showed even better consistency than Medvedeva. We'll see if it remains; she looks almost fully grown already and her mother is rather petite.

This is SECOND result at junior circuit in the history (after Alina's 207.43 @ JGPF2016), bravo Darya!!! Everything that occurs around Darya in Russia is politicking!

No it is not because ISU doesn't recognize scores which are skated at smaller events, so, this score will not count as her official PB.

She most definitely has not been better than Nastia. Nastia has scored twice 194 points at events where the scores count (Dasha's score doesn't count) and at the JGPF her SP wasn't even any good but her FS was magnificent. Nastia won both her JGP events and she was 2nd at JGPF. Unless Dasha will make it to the Junior Worlds and a get a medal there she most definitely hasn't been better than Nastia. Dasha may have been more consistent at her domestic events than Nastia at her international evets but she hasn't been better, other than Junior Nationals.

EVERYTHING can be a nickname.
The official name of my dog is General Balthazar von Lusthausen, but everyone calls him Bobo. So why that big thing about calling her Dunya?

First, comparing people with dogs (or other animals), even drawing parallels with their names is the height of absurdity.

Second, a diminutive name Dunya is a derivative form of a full name Evdokia (or Avdotia), but a diminutive name Dasha is a derivative form of a full name Daria. Evdokia and Daria are absolutely different names. For example, it will be the same, if you become to confuse the names of John and of Jacob.

Fird, diminutive names as derivative forms of full names and nicknames are absolutely different things, which can not be confused.
