Gushchina: immersed in the wilds of "Twin Peaks"

In her new short program, the St. Petersburg champion used Angelo Badalamenti's composition by The Bookhouse Boys (soundtrack to the TV series "Twin Peaks"). First of all, a curtsy to the coaching staff and choreographers - Ksenia has added a lot to her plasticity and grace during a year of work in St. Petersburg. This program reveals the new Ksenia - flexible, smooth, organic. This beauty is emphasized by a stunning black minimalist dress. The program is really cool in pattern, choreography and execution even in the working version. It is nice to see the rapid progress of the athlete. On jumps everything turned out to be not without mistakes - a fall from the triple Lutz. But Ksenia immediately corrected herself and jumped two clean jumps after skate. The rides became noticeably more aesthetic and longer. We can only praise Gushchina and look forward to the new season.

Moskvina's improvised Stand Up

Ivan Ramzenkov's run-through. The figure skater with a single fall from the Quad rolls back the short program, pulls up to the board. "Decent," says Tamara Nikolaevna. - (addressing the audience) Let's not whistle, just clap?" Receiving loud applause in response, the coach adds: "Well, here we are, I think we will see Ivan at the 2030 Olympics." Tamara Nikolayevna, Vanya, we wrote it down and memorized it!

Davydenko Band sportsmen at Tamara Moskvina's master class

Good Sunday evening, everyone! It's been an information-packed weekend, but our weekly challenge is still with us. This time it's very easy for me to connect the past and the present. We don't know what program Andrei Mozalev's fans will remember most, and what program will be associated with Kseniya Gushchina, and what programs the juniors will get when they get older. But Alexandrina Degtyareva has a program that has become a landmark in her career. This music, this image fully matches her assertiveness, impetuousness, energy and at the same time femininity and grace of movements. If you've heard anything about Alexandrina Degtyareva as a figure skater before, chances are you've heard of this program of 2016-2017 season.
It was earlier than Trusova's, different than Trusova's, and we will remember this program for different reasons. Ladies and gentlemen, this is "Kill Bill Girl."

I posted two versions, one in the original yellow costume (an homage to the movie), the other in a black jumpsuit with dragons.

Today Davydenko Band welcomed guests. Ulyana Smoleninova, the queen of Russian dancing, gave the skaters a dance master class on the parquet and counseling during their performance on the ice.

Thanks for organizing the master class to Olga "Lyolya" Romanova, head of Mozalevteam and Andrei's manager.

It's going to be something very intriguing.... I can't wait to see it!

Ivan, Ksenia and Dmitriy. Tamara Moskvina's master class

It's nostalgia night! It's Sunday, and my "When it all just started" challenge is well underway. Tonight we'll talk about Anton Shulepov's 2017-2018 season.
From my telling of Shulepov's career, there is an impression of some hopelessness. But if you take a neutral look soberly, things weren't going as bad as they could have been. In the 2017-2018 season, it felt like Anton was about to break into the top-5, just one short step short of the top-5. He qualified for the national team, which is a good achievement. He had the opportunity to travel to some international tournaments. He didn't make it to the 2018 Olympics, but it was already clear in the previous season that the chances were quite small. Yes, he was a bit overshadowed by the young stars in his group, Dimitri Aliev. But he fought to get to the top, to be at the top. At the Russian Championships, he tries for the first time in his career to perform 4T in the short and free skating programs, both attempts ended in a fall. In the final of the Russian Cup he tries to perform 4Lz twice - and he managed to land this jump twice, although with a mistake! At the same time he was still a great dancer on ice, graceful, plastic, he had his own face, his own image. It seemed that the real breakthrough was just a little bit away, but....
Let's just watch these retro skates.

Good evening, folks! It's still Wednesday, the last Wednesday of July, and I still have time to do my junior day of my Challenge. Let's take a look at my favorite Arseniy Dimitriev for the 2018-2019 season.
Arseniy decided to change his destiny and moved to St. Petersburg to train. But he didn't immediately fall into Davydenko's band. For two seasons he trained at Alexei Mishin's "Star Ice" school. During this time his technique improved, he learned to jump triple axel.

In the new coaching staff they put him an energetic short program to a cheerful Jewish tune "Hava Nagila", gosh, energetic Arseniy is so funny and at the same time so organic in this music, he can't stop running. I`m simply charmed.

The free program to Kipelov's heartfelt song was also liked in St. Petersburg, so they kept it for two more seasons.

Arseniy starts to fight for a place under the sun in one of the figure skating capitals of Russia. We'll talk about what happened in the next seasons in one of the other Wednesdays.
