Denis Ten

(You know, he makes me think of that fairy tale wherein the heroine is asked whether she would want to have the first part of her life happy, and the later sad - or the first part sad, and the later happy. She chooses the latter, and has a tough time of it, and then, after many years, things change, and she lives the rest of her life happily ever after. Denis seems to have made some such deal about his seasons... Maybe we've come to the happy part of this season at last.;))

Denis usually is in his top form in the later part of the season. I really hope that he can skate clear or near clear programs, especially in the short program.
I like his skating a lot and I am sad that he has been struggling with injuries lately. I wish him the very best at Worlds!

LRK, you're awesome, thanks for the updates!

Is there a chance? If he skates the way we know he can - Yes.

Is it likely - after his injuries, and what shape he may be in... ? Well, it is Denis, so who can say, really?

I love this fairly tale. :gclap:

Glad I could do something - I benefit so often from the hard work of other members on this forum. I was reading the tweets, and I thought others might be interested also.:)

I also visited Michal's fanfest, and your contribution to there is tremendous as well. Thanks a lot!

Practice notes: Denis Ten FS runthru: 4S(ur,2ft), 4T, 3Afall, 4T3T, 1A, 3Lz, 3Lo, didn't see the 3Fcombo http://bit.ly/1MylIXg #Worlds2016

From Jackie Wong's Pre-SP Practice Notes:

Ten: 3A, 3A, SP runthru (4Tfall, 3A, 3Lz3T), 4T(step,hand), 4T3T

Yuzuru barked at Ten because he got on his path :( :(

Denis was in mid spin so he didn't see the Yuzutrain coming. Yuzuru was skating backward to do his 3A so he didn't see Denis until he turned around and panicked. I hope everybody settle down to be ready for the SP later.

Uh, then Yuzuru should take next time if tries an axel. It seems it wasn't Denis's fault. Any videos of it, maybe?

It was Yuzuru's SP run-through, so he had a reason to be at that spot and at that moment. The person having a run-through has right of way.
That said, the incident's over, no injuries, no crashes, just a moment of frustration. Let them both have a skate of their lives.

Even though Denis made some mistakes during the SP I never get tired of watching him. I would much rather watch Denis skate, mistakes and all, than some of the competitors with a perfect program. He is so elegant on the ice which is such a rarity and I hope he does well in the FS.

Now that the season is over, Denis should finally get some much deserved rest. Knowing the gentle soul he is, I hope he wasn't too stressed out with all the crazy stuff that happened this week. Get well, and be strong.

Enjoy your down time Denis. I can't wait to see you next season because you're a joy to watch.

I'm very sad how Worlds turned out for Denis and I don't talk about his results. I only hope it won't escalate any further, because this affair is already affecting him.

It is reported that Denis and Yuzu shook hands with each other and are now reconciled. http://www.asahi.com/articles/ASJ4426LFJ44UTQP006.html
I'm happy that it's over, and that these two great athletes had a good mind to solve the situation by themselves.

I hope Denis can enjoy some peace after the rough season he had. In the interview he had with the Japanese TV, he said he'll keep the Romeo and Juliet LP for the next season. I don't think it was a complete piece in Boston, but am looking forward to seeing it next season under a new light. Rest well, Denis!

The Japanese Federation has apologized and admitted that there was no collision and that they have no accusations against Denis.
It was also noted that the federation was never supposed to ask for a punishment.

Yuzuru Hanyu apologized to Denis yesterday and the two shook hands.

An official letter has been sent to the Kazakhstani Skaters Federation. https://www.instagram.com/p/BDxUHf-KsdO/
