Denis Ten

I am older than Denis. Denis is gone and I am here. They are not supposed to be burying people younger than me.

Exactly my sentiment there, I am 28 and feel sick at this moment looking who is no longer with us - not only a skater, but a great ambassador of sport we are discussing there. The most regret I have is about way it all happened and that we won't be able to watch him challenging himself at least one more season...

RIP, DENIS!

I hate, hate, hate, hate this!!!! I'm in shock! He was so young! This is so unexpected, meaningless, stupid, unacceptable death! The humans are so bad many times! He has died for mirrors of his car!!! Really???? :ddevil:

I can not believe this. Please police, arrest the guys no matter how long it will take because I can not forgive this.

RIP, Denis.

Well this just sucks.

Sorry to not be more eloquent... but sometimes "this sucks" is about all you can say.

This is all stupid and pointless and tragic. A mirror is not worth killing over and not worth dying over.

We should all take this as a time to call our loved ones and hug our pets. Life is too short to not.

I-i just feel so frustrated. This is so bloody unfair! After all he's gone through the last few years, he doesn't deserve this ...

(and yeah, life's unfair and whatnot but ughhh all this is just so so ... pointless)

What's up with these people who think they can take someone's life like if it's nothing. So unfair.

Rest in peace, Denis.

Share Your Favorite Memory of Denis Ten

I am creating this thread to remember the life of Denis Ten, who has been taken from this world far too soon. I want everyone to celebrate his accomplishments and share your favorite memories. I'm at a loss for words at this situation, but I want to take the time and reflect how he has impacted the world of figure skating.

Denis' Ten 2015 4CC performances will always be one I remember, stunning programs and he was amazing. But for me, my greatest memory is him winning bronze in Sochi. He won the first ever Olympic medal for Kazakhstan in figure skating. How many little kids did he inspire, how many skaters will grow up with him as their idol? What an astounding feat.

Denis, I hope you have found peace. You will not be forgotten.

Heartbroken for him, his family, & every one of us who have been lucky enough to call ourselves a fan of his. RIP Denis.

Denis' impact in inspiring skaters from small figure skating countries has been and will continue to be immense. He has been a shining light.

This is so surreal and terrible. Much love to his family, friends, the people of Kazakhstan, and the broader skating community.

OMG....tears. RIP, you will be missed, dear Denis. May your spirit and beautiful skating memories live on.

OMG, I can't believe this is true. It is such a horrific story. Dying for some car mirrors is unbelievable. That's why we should never fight thieves. Uf, Denis, what a sad day. RIP!

This is just horrible. Some people out there have no respect for life. Sad and senseless. Prayers to Denis’ family and loved ones

Mine was Sochi, the first time I'd ever watched a figure skating competition. His musicality was striking, as were his music choices, they seemed unusual and difficult to skate to, but he sold the programs so well.

My heart goes out to his family and friends, I can't imagine the loss they must feel.
