Denis Ten

And two important posts by Ten, which I didn't notice earlier. :)

Denis congratulated the veterans on the Victory Day

tenis_den: Congratulations to all the veterans.

And Denis congratulated Tatiana Anatolievna Tarasova, when she had a birthday

tenis_den: I spent in Moscow 7 unique years. When Tatiana Anatolievna came back from USA, I was one of the firsts whom she took to her group. Working with a legendary couch was a dream which came true. It was the most fantastical experience in my career, I wouldn't be the man which I am, without that.
Tatiana Anatolievna, thank you for everything.
Happy birthday. 🏅🎁🎉

He visited the monument of his great-grand father who was a famous general in Korea :)

¨The statue of my great-grandfather, Min Geung-Ho, the famous general of Korea.

In his honor, in 1999, the city of Wonju erected a monument. Not far away, too, is his memorial and a tombstone a few meters high with a description of his achievements in two languages: Korean and English.

My great grandfather is on the list of the 12 most outstanding fighters for the country's independence.

His army was one of the largest and most influential in the whole empire.

In 1962, Min Geung-Ho was awarded the Order of the Republic of Korea "Presidential Medal in the Order of Merit for the National Foundation". This is one of the most prestigious state awards for the contribution to the foundation of the whole country.

Every time I come to visit his memorial, I can't stop thinking, what an honor I've been given to be born in a truly great family.¨

Just to let you know that I have updated the Original Post.

One of the things I have done is to update the Competitive History table. And, as a result of finding his fskate.ru profile, I was able to add in some domestic competitions that he did in Russia early in his career.

Unfortunately, the results pages on fskate.ru only have the total scores. And I am curious to know what Denis' SP and FS scores were at the two Russian Cup competitions that he competed at (2009 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Stage in Perm; 2008 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Stage in Moscow), because it is highly probable that at least some of these scores are Season Best scores (the total score from Perm is definitely his 2009 SB).

Also, there was one competition from 2006 that I couldn't work out what it was. Google's attempt at translating the name didn't seem to make sense.

So, if anybody knows what any of the blanks should be, please let us know.

Thank you

He visited it in 2014 as well. My very first post in this thread, which I just came across again when updating the OP, was about it:

It's nice that he visits it regularly. And that he keeps in touch with his heritage.

Denis just posted this on his Instagram:

August 10, on the eve of the ice show in Korea, an incident occurred, as a result of which I ruptured my ankle. 2 out of 4 most important ligaments of the joint were critically damaged.
[...]
But I do not lose optimism and I feel stronger day after day. Observing the daily progress, I hope to recover by the Rostelecom Cup.

I hadn't known he was injured... :(

He just can't catch a break. :( Hope he gets better, but I don't think he'll be in competitive shape by RC, but hope he gets well soon either way.

Very sad for Denis following a very rough GPS. I worry a lot that continuing to train at the level he's going with that injury might be hurting him more than it's helping... However, he has shown glimmers of beauty in two very expressive programs, and I hope that a miracle will happen and we can see them in their proper glory at the olympics. His free program has some of my favorite footwork this season, I just wish he had the jumps to back it up!! Go Denis, we're rooting for you!

He has great sets of programs, I really hope we will see them skated well this season. It would be a shame otherwise. Keep fighting, Denis!

Really rooting for Denis in the SP at the Olympics tonight; I'm so excited to see these programs! I will be cheering loudly from home! :yahoo:

Happy 25th Birthday to Denis!

Hi, likevelvet, I only see backstage, final and rehearsal footages from the 2015 show on YouTube. Do you think they will upload the whole performance this year? Jeremy Abbott posted a really nice message on his Instagram. I love the Greatest Showman costume that Denis wore! This other Twitter account @ReeChaiii also has lots of photos and some fancams. The production value looks superb!
Wishing Denis a wonderful 25th birthday filled with lots of love, good skating and happiness!!!
:hb:

Thank you for the uploads! Denis should star in his own movie. So he actually composed his own music for the show? What a talent!
I wonder where he gets his funding for such a large scale ice show with international skating stars and impressive production values.

It's a shame he couldn't display his wonderful skating last season. I wish him the best at Rostelecom.
No matter how the jumps turn out, just show us your beautiful skating. Same with Daisuke.
