Dorothy Hamill Has Breast Cancer

Dorothy

This poor woman has had such a tough time throughout her adult life. I am so sad to hear this. I hope and pray they got this early. I know she is in good hands. It's a fine hospital with some first rate M.D.'s.

Oh no........she's a skating icon....hope she'll be okay.....42

OMG, such sad news!  My thought and prayers are certainly with Dorothy for a full recovery.

Sorry to hear this news!! Hopefully it's caught in the early stages!! My thoughts are with Dorothy for a full recovery.

Sad news indeed. My local news had a short clip on this story last night. They showed Dorothy accepting the Olympic gold medal and talked about her Broadway on Ice show and I had to reach for the Kleenex. I pray that she gets through this OK and makes a full recovery.

:(

Hard to find words. I'll cling to "favorable prognosis", and I'm glad she is at Johns Hopkins.

Geeze! She's thin, healthy, exercises, eats properly and is still young. It's not fair. I hate cancer!

As someone said it is in the early stages, so hope all will turn out fine. I just got done reading her book and it seems she has had some ups and downs throughout her life. Wishing her well.

This is a reminder to us ladies (older) to get your yearly mammogram.

No......the nicest......the sweetest.......and the most victimised........my heart goes out for her.

Dorothy Hamill is the reason that I am a figure skating fan.
I was 10 years old when I cheered for her as she won the gold.
The following Christmas I got ice skates. And the Dorothy Hamill Barbie Doll.
I had the Dorothy Hamill hair cut too, like so many of us did!
All these years later....I still love figure skating.
Thank you Dorothy!

I will be praying for her!

Sounds familiar to my experience. She surely was and continues to be a role model and magnet to the sport she loves - and that many love also because of her.

She surely has had so much to deal with throughout her life - prayers for her and her care givers to see her through this newest trouble.
