Dreams on Ice

I'm in love with Akiko's program, which is also her new Sp. It's one of the best tangos in history!!

At least in the singles catagory. I can't get over how gorgeous this performance was. The way Akiko uses her upper body and hands are just incredible, like a dream. Others may have the jumps and the spins over her, but the performance aspect and musicality of Akiko's skating is IMO unmatched. She's like my favourite Japanese skater ever. *sigh*

Got here too late and most of these vids have been pulled due to copyright issues. I was able to see Laura and I really liked the program. She is looking awfully thin, though.

Same; I can't see the videos anymore because they were taken down. :disagree: However, I saw the mashclips and they look like they're having a great time. I wish Mao's skirt hadn't been translucent; otherwise, it's perfect!

Fujisawa was amazing! Wow! So musical and expressive, and her flexibility is , nice spins :). Anna and Kiri better watch out for this girl!

Yukiko and Kanako have both gotten soo tall! It's only been a few months since we saw Kanako at Junior Worlds but wow, she looks a lot taller and older. And the last time I watched Yukiko she was still tiny. Cool show programs for both of them, it's nice to see the Japanese girls branch out and show some spunk.

Both girls are only about 5ft tall. They are still tiny, but bigger than before. They do look a lot older though.

Just wanted to say that Tatsuki Machida is AMAZING! I can't believe I didn't even see him at 4CC. Out of all the up and coming men, I think I'm the most impressed with him. He skates like his own skater and the way he flies into the jumps is just increcible. Can't wait to see his debut on the GP this season.

Though Machida's EX (which will be his new SP) was choreographed by Kenji Miyamoto (someone pls correct me if I'm wrong), I see some Lambiel-esque moves here and there in this program. Possibly that's what clicked in you. I'm also excited to see him in the upcoming season, at this point maybe more than Hanyu.

Young Ms. Murakami is channeling Judy Garland. So young, so powerful and so sexy - wow. I don't know if skating is big enough for this young lady.

I love Fujisawa in Mary Poppins too. The number could have used another big jump but it was so charming to see her get the ambiguity of drag down to perfection. Do people (esp people in Japan) still know that musical by heart? Julie Andrews and Dick van Dyke are the bees' knees!

Matchida's program is very enjoyable, but the more I watch Yuzuru's program the more I love it. The music, his movement and his interpretation is just amazing.

I love Mary Poppins /Fujisawa. It is so nice to see Fumie.

Mao Asada and Chopin music go well together. I believe Tat choreographed this one Ballade #1. Mao is probably one of the best maybe the best interpreter of Chopin. I remember Button's comment on Michelle Kwan's skating ( I believe message in a bottle program) "there is almost a throw away qualify in her skating" I feel the same about Mao in this program. Just look at the line, the carriage, the spins, the edges, the spirals, the charolotte, and the falling leaf (2 in total), what a treat.

Thanks for the links, Morning Glory!

Is Fumie's number going to be her LP? Four minutes, three spins, slow mid-section with spirals, ending straightline footwork. I like this music for her! It would stand out in competition.

Miki had only 2 weeks to prepare her 3 exhibition programs in total !

Now this YT is written "I'll take this down on Monday (Japan Standard Time)" so better hurry.

Due to digital buffering, you can see Miki skate way better when you replay this, not on its first download.

This will be re-aired through pay-channel on 25th Sunday.
