Tracy Wilson commentated for the Canadian's ice dance discipline. I always enjoy her comments and expertise. Tracy said that Dubreuil and Lauzon's main problem with their dancing is their lack of finess in their footwork. She says they have great lifts, but they really need to work on their footwork if they want to make it in the top five at the Worlds. I sure hope they do because they are such a striking couple to watch. I love their lifts.

That's the same criticism that Susie Wynne has on US broadcasts, but she also cites technique: if the skaters are not pulled up posture-wise and directly over a strong "standing" leg, the twizzles lose speed, and there's a greater chance of falling, tripping, stumbling, etc.

Tracy also comments on technique as well. I really enjoy her input when it comes to dance; she knows what to look for and what the judges are looking at.

Tracy is one of the best ones!!!!
I hope that D/L will work on their footwork, I love to watch them

I find D&L zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. They are like a less interesting and slow version of L&T. Great lifts, but not much difficulty other then that.

Hoping Naomi gets better,

I think Tracy Wilson is one of the best commentators out there; I have learned so much about the technical aspects of Dance through her commentary; I wish we could get a chance to see more of her at events televised in the States.

I like D & L a lot, and I actually think their footwork has gotten better over the last couple of seasons. Certainly it's no worse than Fusar-Poli/Margaglio's, IMO.

Actually, I feel D&L need a new choreographer. I don't know who choreographs their programs, but I think they try to put too much into their programs at times and it "gets away" from them. I think they thought they had to do this to keep up with Bourne and Kraatz.

Anyway, I know they have the talent and they look beautiful together. They looked great at Canadians. Congratulations to them both - new Canadian ice dance champions!!!!

I never said L&T have more difficulty, but they do what they do do much better IMO. Also, the analogy was used to desribe D&L, not to compare them to L&T. I think D&L are very slow. Their steps aren't very difficult. Their programs rely on their lifts. Without that, they are a very bland team I think.

I also think they need new choreo. Their choreo in their FD comes off a very cheesey to me, with their thumbs, backtracks:\.

Well, they've added more difficulty this year, but other than that, not really. I do enjoy watching D&L, but so far it seems they can't handle the difficulty and still have that "effortless" and smooth quality needed to move themselves up.

I agree they can use some improvements. They don't have those "soft knees" that some of the best do.

Yeah, that's getting a bit ahead of herself, I think. Of course, she said that about D&L and L&T years ago.

D&L have yet to impress me the way I have been with Lang and Tchernyshev. I don't know, maybe its just because I haven't seen them as much. A top five finish could happen for them in the next 2/3 years, IMO.

According to the ISU site in the Dubreuil/Lauzon biography, Chantal Lefebvre used to be Lauzon's partner, although it doesn't say in what year(s). I wonder if Wilson thinks that Lefebvre/Markov are potentially stronger than D/L.

D/L's choreographer, according to the same site, is Pasquale Camarlengo.

Apparently our Finnish TV thought that this couple is very interesting as they were the only one shown from Trophy Lalique ice dance. We have gotten an hour from Skate America, Skate Canada and on Saturday from Trophy Lalique. Have to add though, that they don´t normally show winning skaters many times, we are being given a variety. We got though Plushenko and Cohen twice so far.

I enjoyed wathing D&L...
