Early tax filers get refunds early

The above title is not just propaganda: I mailed my federal tax return on January 29th and I got my refund in the mail today. Less than 30 days. Not bad.

I thought most people knew this already? Many people do procrastinate, but the majority of people who file in April (like me) file then because we owe the government money, and want to hold onto that money for as long as possible. Most of my friends who knew that they're getting a refund have filed already. (Lucky them!).

And if you use something like "Turbo tax" and can file electronically, you can get the refund in less than 2 weeks....

I just like to get it done and over with. I have a lot of investment slips with my Credit Union so have to wait for them to all arrive. I will be glad to get income tax behind me for another year.

I did my taxes electronically on taxact.com. I submitted them on Monday and I was told that I would be getting my direct deposit refund on either 3/7 or 3/11, of course if there are no problems!!
