Short Program
The marks & placements shown are from what I noted while watching. The official results sheets weren't out when I left the arena for the night.
Pairs is the most difficult event to take notes for and it takes so many words to try and describe what they're doing that I sometimes will miss an element while I'm writing about the previous one.
CAN Valois / Boudreau-Beland Start 1 Place 2
Notes her in hot pink & light sparkly top him in black with pink accents on arms / soft romatic piano / bids she goes down nicely & good speed / toe overhead to one hand to helicopter pos / 2a both messed up with hand down - both did lovely ones in warmup / sbs spins were in and out of sync a number of times - some nice pos though / 2 tw is very nice with catch on hip / thr 3t / spirals in O ending in nest spreadeagle to ina / pair opposing cam sit to back - back end was very slow with a few problems / 40.26 /
CAN Fernandez / Veilleux Start 2 Place 3
Notes her in white lacey top with red skirt in him white satin shirt & dark pants / spirals she held one position for a long time / thr 2t / 2tw is pretty good / sbs 2a she under rot & fell he fell out with hands down / toe over head to star / sbs cam ch cam sit bit out of sync on sit / pair spin opposing cam to nested cam with him going over her / bids one down was very nice but it was 'hippy' on the way down / 35.06 /
CAN Anderson / Dzamba Start 3 Place 5
Notes her in red velvet him in black with red cumberbund / little trouble getting in fairly complex opening pos & had to try again / tango / some nice chor to start the program / shoot duck through his legs into 2 tw - effective / sbs 2a she fell & long time getting up don't think he was clean either / toe overhead lift didn't get up / thr 2t / sbs spins were in sync & close together / aside from the chor at the start tohey aren't paying any attention to their music / ids goes down very nicely / pair spin facing cam to opposing cam / 26.50 /
CAN Gorczyca / Luciani Start 4 Place 4
Notes her in black with white sah effect & white underskirt him in black with white shirt black sus & bow tie / sbs 2a she fell / nice 2tw catch on hips / sbs spin cam to sit to 1/2 sit nice sync until very end / toe overhead was good exit looked a bit qwkward / I sa2w pair spin but can't remember pos to describe them / spirals end with her in catch foot and she hold it riht into bids until almost down when she lets go and crosses her legs for rest of spin / they have a really nice look on the ice / 34.18 /
CAN Boutin / Joncas Start 5 Place 1
Notes both in black & white her with black & white polka dot skirt / jazz piano / they look musical right off start / nicest 2 twist of the night him with hands to side / sbs 2a she fell not quite sure what he did / sbs spins have very good pos & speed & pretty much in sync / thr 2t / toe over head to start / they look like they're having fun and they're using their music / spirals have both of them with leg to side straight / bids is nice once down but her rear is sticking in air at start of descent / 41.22 /
