They changed some transitions in their FD after Skate Canada. Dima thinks that now their FD looks like monolit, not just set of elements collected together. Katia hopes spectators will follow the story of their FD, not will just look at the elements. It's very important to them. They worked a lot these past two weeks, every day, despite that Katia was ill for one week, and then Dima was ill for the other week. They worked a lot on their lifts and steps and turns. They're hoping to skate clean tomorrow. I hope so too!

Yay glad they are able to go to the GPF - their scores keep going up and they keep improving. Very excited to see what happens next week and at Nationals and Euros

I think they will continue to improve on this over time. By worlds maybe we'll see 105 at least

Just went to see the protocols, and, wow, they got some fantastic GOEs for everything - but they were pretty on point, so that's good. They can certainly improve the second lift, but in everything else they weren't that far from the first place. And the PCS played the difference too, but if they skate like this, they can only go up in the second mark as well.
What surprised me was their DiSt, which only got level 2 in SC and now they got level 3 and 2.20 for GOE, so they should be happy with their work so far.

So, after finishing half of the book (all this time and I've only gone through half of the book 
) I start to find the unkind feedback on their FD to be ridiculous too. They look very in character in my opinion. :scratch3:

Congrats to Team Beaver! I just want to gush about Katia for a moment. All the work that she did while Dima was injured really showed here. I just loved how she really made an effort to finish everything. And she continues to improve on the posture front. She has received a lot of flack over the years, so I think it's nice to praise her.

This is much higher score than I expected. So deserved. I still think they deserve nines for their skating skills, though I can't believe was their PB.
So glad to see them at GPF. That's one more chance to improve the scores for their dances, because usually judges are very generous there. I expect them in the mix for podium at Euro too, at least.
Tarasova absolutely loved them. She said they skated 'to tears', very solid technically, and absolutely gorgeous artistically. She got chills from their performance. And thinks it's their best free program to date.

I am so happy for them but I truly always believed they could do it!!! Major congratulations to them on making the final and for reestablishing themselves as Russia's #1. If they keep improving it's actually not out of the question that they could medal at the final but I'll try not to get ahead of myself for now So happy for them!

Compared to SC, BESP guys couldn't say a bad thing about the FD.

They skated much better than at SC, though. More smooth and sensitive. I LOVED the praise, be the way.
