I like it, who ever said B/S are beatable ? well as for their programs its way better than the other russian ice dance couples so far,
they are in track to stay as russian no.1 for a record number of years now !!!
I think all the people that thought some miraculous programs would come out of nowhere without even seeing anything of actual skating. What B/S are doing might not be the most refined, artistically challenging - debatable - or pleasing programs, but they are putting them out there without fear and they are mostly ready to compete now. Russian ID can't live off of delusion, they need their couples ready for yesterday.
And for me their programs are artistically challenging (A Man with a Harmonica, Anna Karenina) and almost always pleasing.

I REALLY like the free but the last minute or so needs work, it was almost like they crashed. I'd need to see it with them better prepared for it to make a definite judgment on if it's the choreo or just them...
With that said I think for this early in the season it looks good and I was super impressed by the first 2/3 so I'm very optimistic this will shape up into something great![]()
They skated first 3 mins of the FD on the shows last month, maybe that's why. Glad you like it.![]()
I guess it will good 'ol B/S again to carry the russian ID burden with S/K and I/Z continuing their dramas and questionable status of preparation or health. I have also look at their juniors, Loboda/Drozd have regressed alot especially her with the horrid postures, the nearest they have with a future is Shipilayeva / Smirnov....
We didn't even see them skating yet, they were not ready at that early event. We need to see them at jGP first to make such assumptions, because IMO skills-wise they're clearly the best junior Russian team right now. Shpilevaya needs year or two to catch them.

I saw their event they competed in domestic, they were slow, laboured, not so good posture and she didn't look fit - she's in growing pains ???, I think Drozd was ok though.
maybe they were not yet ready, but getting that 148+ on a domestic, that really is not good: minus inflation- it will only be around 141+ in JGP.
Shpilevaya / Smirnov imo, are the best russian juniors since some time, they have floating and effortless skating skills - a necessity in ice dance. But like most russian ice dance, they need to tech up those levels. Smirnov is one of the most expressive male dancers after Cizeron !!!
Katia trusts Dima so much :luv17:It's so scary to do thatKatia trusts Dima so much :luv17:
