It's becoming hard to keep some trolls out.Yesterday I thought for a moment I was reading Vikita's thread. Today is BS. I guess we should feel "flattered". No one cares about teams who they don't see as a threat.
You're probably right. But rather than flattered I sometimes just feel hijacked. Anyways I'll choose to be flattered

No, you're right. It's becoming a bit tiring actually. I don't like reporting but I think I'm gonna start using that button this season.It's interesting and encouraging though. These two just after a year as a couple are right up there in the mix with the top teams and are already seen as threats against teams who have been skating for years together. It's true that both individually were already experienced skaters but a team who's skating for years together usually has a big advantage. Good matching lines, balance, the sync., the confidence, the good knowledge of your partner, the trust. They all come with time. I&Z skating qualities and chemistry in such a short time shows how good these two are and what they could become. It depends on them now, to show what they are capable of, but the sky is the limit, IMO.

I hope I didn't send a bad message in critiquing B/S's SD. I get annoyed when it plays out in fan threads. I understand the posters point in trying to get a discussion going. That's a high score for a first time out in over a year. They have had time to work on things and get danced together before other teams did. I wish others would let the season play out before handing out Russia's top dance team titles.
Let all be well on our thread. We are awesome fans.
TBH, I couldn't care less at this point who is first in Russia. I just love the way they move
I want RusLena to simply make the team. Then that gold medal at worlds that she should have picked up two years ago, she could just pick that up with Mr. Z. Well I could go on but I think y'all get the jist of it

I think you guys should all just chill out...there was a temporary discussion about BS and the thread got a bit side tracked...so what? In fact some of us didn't even notice which thread we were actually on.
However, to a larger point, a Fan fest should not be only to gush about a team you like but also to offer opinions on a team this team including objective thoughts about something you might not like...this also includes comparisons with potential rivals...such as BS, which might occasionally call for an opinion on the rivals...I really don't see a problem...the only problem is the automatic defensive stance and touchiness of the fans...

I think calling for discussion of rival performance and wanting to know how IZ would do in comparison isn't really hijacking a thread or being negative about the rival pair.
At least that certainly wasn't my intention by posting BS's scores. It was more like 'hey look, they scored 69 so hopefully we can expect something in a similar range for IZ? Or is there too much homecooking involved and should we expect much lower?'. I think some did get a little defensive here about this whole thing, honestly.

That's not the issue IMHO. My issue is you don't come into someone's thread, post something about another pair and then dictate to other's how they should respond. And to be honest we were was on the verge of just letting things be before tvuckic16 posted a few minutes ago. I think we had sort of let things go, then this comment, which I think is really rude was made. This thread is made up of a pretty cool bunch, we've set a certain tone here and I hope it remains that way.

Either you are being naive or you are kidding. In this topic you get plenty of bashing about these two. Whatever you like, we have for all seasons. Starting for example with: Ruslan is not manly enough or Elena's looks. Fat or not fat? Too thin? Boyish? Not provoking enough some male body parts (not my words).
Two days ago there was "what a pity that nothing is working for Nikita" mantra and now BS is the first couple in Russia, obviously. Can you seriously keep a straight face behind the computer and write here that this stuff has a place in I&Z Fan-Fest? Have you ever seen I&Z fans going to other ID couples topics and write these things? I can assure you there is none. Do you think that's because we don't have negative things to say about other couples? Believe me we do. I could make a list of all things I do not like at all in B&S, M&K, S&B, H&D, C&L, G&P etc.etc. but I think it's totally inappropriate to write that in their fan-fest. It's not decent and I consider that a provocation. There are other topics in this forum (The edge and various competitions topics) where we can all express whatever we think, without insulting anyone of course. As for constructive criticism, we have done that in this topic, starting with myself (check out my comments about their FD last season) and nobody was pissed off about it. I have done that in Yulia's topic also (another skater which I love, for example). This time elif, uhh, LisaM, Snow, you (first names that comes to my mind) have expressed their opinions and criticism without anyone attacking or feeling touchy about it. On the contrary, I read elif and Uhh comments with much interests - regardless of whether I do agree with them in the end or not - because I consider them to be quite knowledgeable in ID. I can only learn from those kind of comments. I know very well the difference between a genuine constructive criticism and provocation, or subtle (often not so subtle) bashing. We are not in the wrong here so please, spare me the chill-out suggestion.
I'm sure the better these two become the uglier will get but keep it out of this topic, at least. This is not the place.

tvuckic16, each team has their own fan thread, go to the place you want to go, don't come here if you have nothing nice to say.
I think I/Z has the best FD among Russian teams, with more polish and training, they will get good score. They're good dancers and good actors as well, their expression on ice were really convincing even though it was just a test skate. They have a lot to work on, but so do other teams.
