Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

Yes they have a dance for gala this year. I hope they will medal at CoC and we can see it.

I'm pretty sure they will be invited to the CoC Gala even if they don't medal, and they will definitely be invited to the CoR gala even if they don't medal there either, so in a total worst case scenario we will see it in Russia. I'm pretty sure we'll see it at CoC though ;)

I agree. Let's not not sing praises to others here either. :p

Alba, you took the words right out of my mouth. Don't they have their own FAANNN THREEAADDDSSS!!!

And this is exactly the reason I've been staying out of this thread. Everyone has their own fan threads, but it seems that some people are primarily concerned of promoting their teams or DEpromoting IZ in their own thread...But that's life

A fan thread is a fan thread, and people need to respect that. I don't want to go online to talk about Ruslena, share photos, say my silly fan staff, talk technique even and have to deal with people that come deliberately to provoke, or pseudo fans that we all know very well who they are and what they do.

If people can't open their eyes and see the quality of I/Z skating, then they probably don't support them. A person that understands skating and skating isn't only about who dates who in their mind can see their quality even while being half blind.I can say I don't like a program, a choreo, but doubt skating skills of that level it's a no no.

I don't think there is any need to be so harsh. Often people don't do it on purpose like you seem to think. People get carried away in general discussion. I've been on several fan fests lately and this happens on all of them, IZ thread is not unique in that sense. So, I would cut people some slack and just politely redirect. That's usually enough.

As for the gala, I am sure they will have something new, will be good.

 I agree, talk about other teams is rarely malicious, it can be easy to be sucked in. 95% of the time people aren't going to enter this thread if they don't at least like I/Z. The 5% does exist but usually it's just the 95% getting carried away and simple redirection is indeed all that's needed.

You know me well, and you know I'm not harsh. I saw something a page ago, but that's not even a deal anymore. So I stay with what you said.

Actually I agree about COC and that I/Z are in a good position going there, C/B aren't as invincible as people may think to be. I/Z's basic skating skills are the best in the world , imo, and the programs are demanding, they are champion material

Couldn't agree more.

I am interested in her SD dress. I know the one at Mordovian was not her dress she was wearing. I keep watching the SD. I am really loving the program.

Only less than a week left! SA & SC were very interesting, scoring-wise, so I'm SUPER stoked to see how Ruslena will do!

Man, the fight for those spots will be tough in Russia. I can`t wait for CoC and Elena`s new SD dress.

I usually stay calmn cause I believe we have champion material. I don't believe that currently any Russian couple have worlds medal programs and chances apart from IZ and BS.but looking at the scoring tendency well everything is reputation and politics so no one knows. I just wish them clear skate and good luck. And maybe if the Russian Federation stay behind those couples they will have a chance.

I find it very interesting that BS and SK scored practically the same, both in competitions in North America which tend to favor the North Americans. If that trend holds then I would say this could be good news for IZ. Maybe IZ can be solidly first and then BS and SK fight it out for 2nd. Of course, this could also be a bad sign suggesting IZ, BS and SK will fight for 1st, but I prefer to think of the first scenario as the most likely one till further notice.

Very interesting internal fight in Russia.

Taking test skates and MO into consideration, if they skate clean, they have the programs and there will be no dispute on who is Russian #1.
