I just hope they can settle in to the new routine quickly, and can give us updates when they are ready.

I'm assuming they'll be busy adjusting. Elena has lived in the US before, but she was a kid and things are of course different then. I'm assuming it will be a bigger adjustment for Ruslan.
I am assuming the Shpilband group will help them navigate the unknowns of american life. Igor and Ilia are Russian, so that helps, when you move to a new country you usually look for help from your own people.
Under normal circumstances, having SK there would have been great too, but instead that might be a slight complication (it is not surprising Tkatchenko and SK formed a friendship, they're Russian skaters in Detroit), but maybe they'll will all overcome even that.
I always laugh, usually people of different ethnic Balkan backgrounds (Croats, Serbs, Bosnians etc.) dislike each other, but in the US, we all love each other, lol... so, we'll see...
People move to different countries all the time and adjust fine, IZ will too, if they decide to stay there permanently.

Elena is friends with some Americans teams as well. I think her and Ruslan will get guidance. I think they will have a pretty decent adjustment as Elena has lived here before and visited NY over the summer. If my memory serves correct I believe she has a family member here as well.
She has lived in the US for some months as well for a couple of seasons before Sochi, different state but at least she also knows Detroit. But I think for Ruslan it's the first time he's training there. He only trained in Latvia within the group before this. I think it's gonna be just fine.

With all the drama in Russian ID, I`m glad Elena and Ruslan are far, far away preparing their new season in Detroit. Although, I`m now worried about S/K and S/B getting that third spot back.

With all the drama in Russian ID, I`m glad Elena and Ruslan are far, far away preparing their new season in Detroit. Although, I`m now worried about S/K and S/B getting that third spot back.

Yes honestly the third spot has pretty much vanished again. Nothing to be done about it though. I hope Ruslena are far removed from all of this mentally and just focused on training hard.

I am also happy IZ are far away. Hope they take the most of their US stay and come back stronger than ever.
Poor BS they really fight for this coming back and did not deserve such scandal. I also put my hopes on them on bringing back the third spot . Hope everything end up ok for them. I don't know how SB receive such presents first the Euros spot now Worlds. Hope they enjoy it. Cause I really hope next year IZ performance and programs are indisputable so that no one will dare to judge them unfairly.

Yeah, that third spot is gone, non-retrievable... Even if SK place well at Worlds, which they might, SB doesn't have a prayer...
Ruslena at least doesn't have to deal with this doping fiasco ramifications at Worlds... good thing...

Oh no, marks will materialize out of thin air. Russia will get back their 3 spots at all costs. The only thing that will prevent that are botched twizzles or stepwork sequences.
