What D/W did in 2009/10 is no longer the standard, they have to redefine that. So expecting to see a completely traditional Indian Dance on ice, considering today's trends is a ridiculous ask. What they need to do is present something pleasing and palatable. They're going in the right direction. Besides the full effect wouldn't be possible without their costumes and the full four minutes and to be quite frank this style isn't for every viewer so some will like it and some won't. The final point I'm making is this is a fan thread. There are other threads for certain types of comments.

Thankfully I braced myself for impact after reading here.Just watched clip, they have flow and movements doesn't seem forced like other two free dances. What I don't like is change of the music. That is very very bad.
The change of the music maybe sounds not that good cause of the record quality. I believe it will be far more smooth in better quality video. If it is not I can make a new music for them

Hi dear.
I've been very busy, but I am back now for the new season and screw the russian drama. 
Back to programs, I like the music choice for the SD. I really hate bollywood, always had. Soooooooooooo, me not so excited about that.
Here is hoping for a great choreo and especially a great skate though. Good luck to my beautiful couple. :luv17:

Most people here (me) found FD not enough Indian. And lucky for your their music choices are not typical bollywood
so you gonna llove it when they show us the whole thing with all the moves and goods and their energy. The rumor has it that it look even better than what we see in the video so cant wait for the whole programs.And their skating is getting better and better...

Typical or no, I don't like even a hint of indian music.
Having said that, I'm not forming any opinion about the program itself. That clip is way too short to have any idea about it. Who did the choreo of their programs? And why are they still using the same old lifts, including the ugly one?

I've forgotten her name but they sent for a specialist for the FD. Not sure about the SD. Apparently there are some new lifts that they haven't put into their FD yet(or hadn't at the time that video was taken). I think they're keeping the SD lift though, presumably because as I've heard that they changed their spin and their twizzles and there's no need for every element to be totally new.

I'm sorry about Ruslan's injury, but I'm more worried about the financial/training arrangements. If it were just the injury, surely it could have been treated in America.
At the same time, I don't trust Vaitsehovskaya at all, and given her bias, it seems to me best not to bring the titbits from her blog here. Yes, of course, she's supplied correct information in the past - otherwise who'd have believed het at all - but if she has an agenda, I'm sure she wouldn't hesitate to exhagerrate something tenfold, as Lotus (FSO insider) says, or even to invent something altogether. After all, knee injuries are common in male ice dancers, but when Soloviev had his - and a far more serious one - she didn't imply that it was Bobrova's fault. Ditto her assertions that IZ haven't made any progress. That woman would parrot anything TAT says, and TAT obviously has an agenda. For instance, Vaitsehovskaya has lamented recently on her blog that the Fed doesn't uphold Zhuk/Svinin teams with the judges, and as a result, there's nothing to hope for Russian ID at the Olympics.
I just hope the sponsor doesn't take the analysis about IZ's progress from TAT, and either can judge for himself or knows enough to ask an impartial expert, like Gorshkov, although personally I'm sure Shpilband would have told him the truth too.
I must admit I don't understand why the Fed sent TAT to America at all, when it's known that she's primarily interested in promoting one Russian ID team only, and with them getting difficult GP assignments and Russia having only two quotas for ID at Worlds, obviously she feels it's no time to be impartial.
And there's one thing I don't understand: if SK's training expenses in the US had been paid by the Fed till they were banned from the rink, why do IZ need a sponsor?

I really like the little sneak peek of their Short Dance and I think this could be a great program for them. Not so sure about the FD, although I like the music choices, but a FSO insider wrote that this isn`t the final version, so let`s wait and see.
Of course Elena and Ruslan only needed to put a foot on Russian soil and the DRAMA starts. I don`t know what to think about Tarasova`s statements or them maybe losing their sponsor. I hope everything will be sorted out and if they really lose the sponsor, hopefully the Fed can somehow help out.

This is something I also don't 100% understand... I mean the Fed is paying for Davankova to train in New Jersey with Mozorov for goodness sakes, and she didn't even have a partner till recently and they are just terrible at the moment.... why can't the money be found for Ruslan and Elena?
That said, I'm no SK fan but do think we should keep in mind there's no proof that SK were banned from the rink. This too is just part of the Russian soap opera drama at the moment and should be taken the same way the rumors about Ruslena are unless further proof is provided.

Davankova is Morosov`s wife, so I guess she isn`t paying the full rate or maybe nothing at all. Now, with SK back in Moscow, there should be more funds available for the Fed. I guess the Skype-coaching Zueva will be doing won`t be nearly as expensive as them actually training in Canton.
Concerning Vaitsekhovskaya telling the truth, well, she apparently also said few days ago that Davankova/Shibnev are Russia`s hope for the next Olympic cycle. No idea what to make of that comment, tbh.

Btw, even Guerreiro/Pushkash were allowed to train with Krylova and they had nowhere the talent that Elena and Ruslan have. If they could fund staying and training in Detroit, why can`t Elena and Ruslan?

It is interesting who is the sponsor. Apparently he has a good taste for sure.
If I had the money, oh boy, Ruslena would have been traveling in private jet and making private shows for my birthday and would have been dancing on my fave songs at the moment. ( good that I dont have the money) Joke aside crossing fingers the whole sponsorships to work out , because Ruslena deserves it and they bring immense joy to all their fans and even more they are a really good example for strong good people that fight for what they love. I also wish this sponsorship to work out because it is not nice to depend solely on RU FED if they rely on not independent opinion like TAT which I like a lot sometimes.
And also if someone pays for one of their top teams isnt it interest of the RU FED to provide a good analysis or at least a fare one so this sponsorships continue? TAT and Vaitsekhovskaya should be really mean ladies and serve some interest if they sabotage this.

Guerriro & Pushkash benefited from being funded in the pre-Sochi period, when the Fed was throwing money at everything. There's less money for all sport now in Russia, plus the rouble is a bit weaker against the dollar, so money doesn't go as far as before. But then again, I have heard that S/K leaving the US is definitively not about financial issues - and I can't see Igor being a wildly more expensive coach than Marina?
I'm equally confused about the sponsor thing, as I had the impression that the sponsor was to cover the period between post Nats & the new funding period start in June. All the stuff about how they can't change coaches midway through the season because money is allocated to their training base for the whole year. Same reason that Yulia needed her sponsors help to go to Urmanov in the middle of the season. So February to June, Kustarova still had money as their main coach but they needed extra to pay for Igor. After that, he became the main coach, and he gets the money. Less (or maybe no) help from a sponsor needed. I don't know!
