Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

I am astounded by the negative GOE. They had on sink and hands down the best twizzles of the day!

We know this. Also their SS are so sweet. Its the way of iD, you are rewarded for reputation rather than the actual skate in many instances. Let the guys continue to improve. They must become exceedingly good then the judges will give them their just desserts.

I`m happy how Ruslena skated. Especially Ruslan seemed to be very nervous, which is understandable, because he isn`t used yet to skate on this kind of level. Although they had a not so great SD, they pulled it together and had a great FD. They are improving their TES of the FD in every competition. They went from 40,56 at COC to 44,25 at COR and finally to 46,81 at GPF. This is a great improvement and I`m sure if they keep being this consistent the judges will reward them with appropriate GOEs.

I know the obligatory paying dues lol. I think they are going to be Russian's number 1 and set themselves up for next year. They are still finding a style so it's all good.

They are just beautiful.. The way he presents her, she feels so free out there, and he's making strides himself. I think these two are a match made in heaven, they should have skated together earlier, but it seems that if the events of last spring never happened, they would actually never skate together, not even think about it. Which is amazing if we think about it

Alba I am working through my feelings for judge #8.

:laugh2:
You know the chinese have a saying. I don't know how to translate this in english but we do use it a lot here, in Italy.
It goes like: "I'll sit and patiently wait for the cadaver on the bank of the river"

It means in this case, their time will come. Sooner than we thought apparently. ;)

So, when they get their due scores, and possibly get also overscored a lot I don't want ranting from anybody here. :sarcasm::biggrin:

Waiting for Tumblr to make gifs of that awesome FD (mostly of the new make out session in the middle of it :drama:)

I'm really glad they've proven to be the kind of team that can bounce back from a disappointing skate. And I'm glad they scored so well outside of Russia. Only one L3 and L2, everything else was Level 4. I'm not at all worried about them making the team, they have the highest scores of any Russian team so far. Really great job today.

I love how they improve their TES!!! They can make it huge by this time next year!! Rock it!

This. Although I was disappointed in the negative GOE this is my silver lining! Such a steady improvement for that free dance! I love the changes that were made and spins looked much better. I cannot wait for Russian Nationals!

It was a great job in Barcelona for Elena and Ruslan!! Their FD was more successful and even with the little struggles in SD, I thought the presentation was still very good indeed. I've decided at this competition that I love this team a lot and I'm going to cheer for them as long as they compete. No matter what score they got, which placement they were at. :points:
