In anycase, it's up to the FED now. If they finish 3rd, I can't see them recuperate those points to BS with the free only (unless disaster happens to BS), it's to the FED to choose the third couple.

Valid points Bram. I think Kustrova was just being supportive and that's all you can do when something like that happens.

But this is the point though isn't it? Who's to say that is the FED? And even if that's the case, why on earth would she say that? Have you heard BS or even SB, MK etc. say such things? Is the FED more supportive towards them? I don't think so.

I do not agree about the programs, especially about Frida which I think it's gorgeous. In anycase, It doesn't matter what we think about the programs. It matters what do they think and what are they showing. Clueleness and disorientation is the first thing I see.

Sorry for being so harsh folks, I'm probably just extremely disappointed for them, especially knowing how difficult it is in ID to get those high scores when judges label you as erratic. It's like you have to start over from scratch again to gain their confidence. Just very, very bummed for them. And I don't know if staying with Kustarova will help them going forward. I'm just very worried for them, no matter what happens tomorrow.

One season of consistency is needed to cancel that label. Let's not forget that they are still a new couple. Don't worry about that. The question is, will they be able to change this trend (next season for example), and when I say they I mean the team. Coaches in primis.
 
I think we are all naturally a bit disappointed. You guys have all been a great sounding board for my ramblings. I'm signing off... hoping for a nice skate tomorrow. With a clean skate they go into 3rd. Can't possibly imagine SB being 3rd, over IZ...no way.

This is my real problem. They invite great specialists and choreographers yes. But the other teams above them have access to these great choreographers all season long helping them to develop their programs. I honestly feel Kustarova and Co. are weak in this area, thus leaving I/Z to fend for themselves from video and other second hand material all season long. Honestly, if they truly believe they have something to offer the world of ice dance they need to find a better coaching team. Don't get me started on what is going on with Y/M. That must be one of the most uninspiring transitions to seniors that I've seen in quite some time. Time for bed. :bed:

Exactly. I'm shocked with them also. Yes, they were injured but that's not the only reason. They got two uninspiring programs this season also, and this is coming from a team which I thought will be RUS 3rd couple, and maybe even 2nd. I will not be surprised if they leave. Mark my words.

Consider them marked. If the management within this team doesn't improve drastically next season we'll see another mass exodus. Mark my words. (I think I just stole that from you, Alba, haha). Let's call it a night. Let's hope for better things tomorrow. Good night.

I`m reading these comments and I`m very concerned about their coaching situation right now. I think Kustarova/Alexeeva know that they have with IZ a potential World Champion in their group and YM have been really hyped up last season. I even saw some people writing that if a team has it in them to beat PC in the future it`s YM.
The thing is that these things that we are talking about, not playing the GOE/PCS game, bad packaging, have always been problems for this coaching team. I`m afraid that if IZ stay with them and they don`t substantially change something in their coaching style, IZ are not going to be near that Olympic podium.
I`m not saying they should go to Igor, but even Platov or Krylova would do a better job in creating a package for them that gets rewarded under COP.
