Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

I’m not worried by what people are writing on any thread anywhere. Who’s going to read them? Judges? ISU? Rus Fed? Skaters? And if somebody who mattered had happened to read it by any chance, why on earth would he/she care?

You're right, no point freaking out before the competition even started. Stopping reading those threads now. :)

I don't understand the stress. It's a practice. It's a program run-through. When practice ends do people think the coach-student talk ends? This is why coaches use IPads. This is why there are practices- to let them acclimate to the arena. Every team has had issues with something here or there. I love the Short Dance. And I have no issue with the free. It's not what everyone else is doing, I love that it's different. No generic monotone carbon copy of everyone else. Can we see how they do here and then have a discussion. Seven hells....

The practices are very important, as the judges watch and make decisions on the PCS ranking of the skaters based on what they see in the practices.
Of course if the skaters then deliver a blinding performance, or a dismal performance, they might change their minds on their ranking, but mostly they already have a good idea of the skating skills ranking before the SD begins.

I saw nothing dismal. Lots of positive comments on their ability to sell.

Do you see same package as last year cause I don't see anything similar? Elena said that Igor choose the music for the FD, they were in US until the test skates so I dont know how Kustarova was involved in the creation of the programs :)

I guess I'll wait to see everything...I only saw the SD and to me, yes, it looked like the same thing as before, same lift, same style, same everything. Have not seen their FD, so, gonna check it out now.

Thanks Marta. Loved this.

I I love the music of their SD and the execution looked so smooth. I love the costumes of their FD and finally we have new twizzles.
I fully agree with elif about the FD. I personally do not like the bollywood, and I do have an issue with the editing of the music pieces. However, I strongly believe that the key for these two is consistency. As long as they don't do mistakes they will grow stronger and I do think judges will reward them for that. Best wishes to Ruslena. I can't wait to see them. :hap85:

What time does the competition start, with europe time?

Can you guys post some links here cause I lost all my favorites and I had there all my streaming links. :(

I can't believe they've already handed out medals to the ladies and we haven't seen dance yet! Can't wait to see Ruslena!

Thank you so much Marta. :luv17: Since I quit reading all the crap I have found back the joy I used to have back in the 90s and 2000s. I feel less nervous and enjoying my favorites.

Glad to see everyone in Europe up and watching with me:)

The actual program looked A LOT better than the available practice video, speed looked better, crisper in general, they really came alive for an audience which doesn't surprise me but was a relief. No major errors, a solid debut. 66.60 which obviously is not a super great score but currently second behind the Shibs.
