Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

I/Z actually beat B/S in the TES and there are only about 2 points between them... I think this is encouraging!

I missed H/D because I was busy to watch IZ. And now judging by the scores they must be really pissed.

And their program is great. And judging by the public reaction it is not only in their fan eyes. The only thing that is out of place are the scores.

Yeah the program is also great, I enjoyed it a lot. I just didn't expect that the program will be so good looking on the practive videos. And the presentation was very good too (but I expected nothing less from Elena).

I've just watched their SD. Blues are not really my thing, but I thought they looked great, so I'm puzzled as to the scores. The idea of them losing to BS on things like performance and interpretation is especially ludicrous IMO. I've seen enough of both teams over the years to know that they’re miles apart in this respect, and not in BS’ favor. This makes me think that Rus Fed is up to its old games, picking favorites and selling off their other skaters. Last year they tried it quite blatantly with SK. That didn’t work, the SK faction in Rus Fed apparently lost, but it looks like the BS faction came on top instead. And are IZ really worse on the quality of elements than HD? I mean, HD are a good team, and I like them, but still I wonder if HD were really better in everything, except the lift, where they were scored the same?

BS is the first couple, of course they got higher PCS, I see nothwing wrong with that, it works like that in every federation, I don't think that Rus Fed can be blamed here.

Well, I/Z need to earn back some trust from the judges, and they need more polish. But if they drill and keep putting out good skates I think we'll see their scores go up.

Okay. I liked the SD. It's not great, but a promising start.

I still maintain the SD is same old same old, but, it's a style that works for them if well executed.

I agree with the standings I guess overall, except for HD...sorry... HD...why are they in the top 3??? Oh right, home ice bias...oh well, it happens everywhere with home teams, I guess.

Shibs and BS I agree with their standings.

Loved it! I think the Blues fits them very nicely. The score is low if we consider the increase in base value, but I find it encouraging that their PCS were so close to H/D`s. H/D are skating home and were 6th at Worlds, but the main difference in the scores was the base value. I agree with chameleon that they have to win back the judges` trust, but if you look at their GOEs, there is a lot of positives. They received great GOE for their lift and had the second highest GOE, only behind the Shibs, for their partial, which was a very difficult element for them last year. So, it can only get better from here on :)

I'm happy. Good for a first outing, and now they have the proper feedback they need to fix the two footwork sequences. It will take time for the scores to go up, but they are on the right track - getting PCS back in the 33s is what I wanted ( should be ahead of H/D and their actively offensive take on hiphop, but you can't have everything).

I LOVED THAT PERFORMANCE! :luv17::love: YES! That's the kind of performance I want to see, and the energy was just awesome. :yahoo:To think this was their first performance leaves me almost speeachless. Just keep doing this Ruslena. No mistakes, be consistent and it will pay off in the end. That was beautiful to watch. Thank you. Now, give me a sexier dress for the next competition girl. :hap85:

I notice I/Z skates with more transitions this year. But somehow they got worse transitions score than Carmen SD. (???) Short dance performance was good, they have energy and she is selling like always.

Entry of the twizzles:In Carmen it was forward backward crossovers. This time there is face to face close holds, dance jump in holds and immediately after twizzles.
Entry of side by side steps:After twizzles they close holds, face to face and unexpected jump entry. In Carmen it was mostly open holds and crossovers.
Entry of the pattern dance: In Carmen, there is open hold crossovers, this time they come with different holds, change of holds it not so open.

This short dance probably hardest short dance Ilinykh ever skated. I don't remember any other program like that from I/K and I/Z.
