What is this whole discussion about again? I think I missed some key points.

I think this general idea that they are, and specifically Lena, not working hard enough is bogus. I think they are working very hard and really trying to improve.

They have some ways to go, I think their scores this year have been fair, but they are not without potential and could do really well in the upcoming years.

The Federation seems to me is also having some financial difficulties and perhaps there is also something 'political' about Russian athletes training in the USA... I think the athletes have really been affected by these insecurities and changes left and right that are not of their making.

But, I don't think that any of them are not working hard enough.

Again, there were witnesses in Novi who said Elena would sulk in a corner when it wasn't Igor working with her. The claque can dismiss this as rumors and gossip, but I look at evidence. The evidence is, the sudden departure from the US (come on, would his girlfriend really waste valuable vacation time hanging in suburban Detroit if she knew her boyfriend was coming back for good a week later), Elena's condition at the test skates - if she had an injury, do you really believe there's no type of physical exercise an injured athlete can do to stay in shape, the absolute mess their programs were in Skate America. If that's hard work, I am afraid to know what lazy work is.

Unless the Nikita controversy becomes too big to ignore, I can't see them favoring I/Z here when they shot them down at every opportunity. Was the deduction a clear extended lift?

I counted every lift and none of them seemed to even be over 6 seconds, let alone the 7 they changed it to this year. Unless they magiced up something else to deduct for? The protocols aren't up yet, but this is a complete joke.

My feelings exactly. I could understand if there was a legitimate issue; then I would say "what a shame" and move on. But this is so frustrating and blatant favoritism, and I don't understand why.

No, idea, tbh, I haven`t counted the seconds yet and I`m not ready to rewatch their FD. Hurts too much :sad21:

Looking forward to next season, I think the only way to move above S/K or S/B again is by beating them in an international competition or having an outstanding season like their first season together. They have to be twice as good as S/B and S/K, they aren`t going to receive any second chances or the time to polish their programs thoughout the season. It`s sad and unfair, but I think this is the situation they are being confronted with right now. I would suggest to skate as many competitions as possible, maybe starting with a Russian Cup comp even before the test skates and doing at least two Challengers.

Do they even have a chance, realistically, though? We said the same thing last season, and this is where we ended up :sad21:
 
And they received again lower GOE than in Paris. You know what? Forget what I wrote, they should switch to Kazakhstan NOW! :ddevil:

4CC would be great, actually, especially with the top Canadians probably leaving after next year and only America as another dance powerhouse at that comp.

I missed the RN completely. I thought it would start on the 24th.


About the change. I have been thinking that since last season but the Rus Fed will never give her permission, I'm afraid.
