Is that how it is typically done though? You teach elements and transitions separately, then find the piece of music that fits the couple. But then it could just be that they're a new couple, right?

You choose the music and the choreographer is creating a program – all moves and steps in an attempt to explain the music. A program must be done looking at rules – the choreographer knows the rules or he/she collaborate with technical specialist / coach.

For improving Skating Skills of the couple at practise – every coach has own way for this – using steps and transitions taken from programs OR using own transitions and steps which include difficult turns and moves forcing the edges OR skaters skate basic skating from the most easy moves to the most difficult ones side by side or in holds.

Zueva’s idea – steps and lifts first, then music – it reminds gala programs of I&K – many different music skated with the same choreography which was taken from FD – not always expressing what was music about – this is looking like Ice Dance.

Looking at articles I&Z chose music first, then they asked choreographers and then those choreographers made a choreography to known music and story – this is a traditional way.

There is also a mention of another Test Skate (without pointing any cathegory) for 13th and 14th of September in Moscow / Moscow region - is it Open Test Skate? Does anyone know?

I found some info at Russian Forum:
There will ve two series of Test Skate:
1) Closed Test Skate – only for Federation, judges, specialists and coaches in Novogorsk (from 5 to 15th of August for juniors and from 20th of August to 3nd of September for seniors).
2) Open Test Skate – it is supposed to be from 10 to 15th of September in Moscow region – precise date will be known after Closed Test Skate

The 2nd test skate is the usual open one around Moscow rinks.Probably katok.ru and Odintsovo, if they keep the tradition.Maybe ' Mechta ' as well

There are some Russian Cup stages most teams go to every season to Nationals, most of the national team though could only do one event if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks. Actually my birthday is not cute, but kinda special according to our traditional Calendar (Lunar Calendar).
In Western Calender it's September 9th, in Lunar Calendar it's usually the most rainy day of the year.

Actually I've always dreamed of blood and gore. just happen to love old legends. :yay: If Lena and Ruslan want to use scary theme for their FD next season, I have plenty.

PS: the thing I like about this legend is neither of them die, they are alive but spend their eternity apart (since they are some kind of God), missing each other for long and only meet one a year, such torture is great material for drama. Lol a FD based on this story will be great to watch.
