Some excerpts via GoogleTranslate:
I heard that you love shopping, it is for you as an outlet, a way to relieve stress after a performance?
Yes, I like to shop, it relaxes, head rests, but long Shopping can not walk. For me, shopping - it's a great way to relieve stress after the performances.

Where do you like to ride - in Europe or the United States? -
To act like in Europe, primarily because fly less. In America, I also like, but travel and acclimatization to carry heavy, and I prefer European cuisine.

- Last year you debuted on the adult European and world championships. What are the most memorable event?
I guess the World Cup. There I fell ill and thought how to bring myself in fighting condition. There was a terrible weakness, but I managed! In Europe, I spoke at the maximum, but I was second. I was separated from first place only 60 hundredths of points! It's a shame, but what to do, then there is something to strive for.

This year you put choreography Nikolai Morozov, tell me about working with him?
I really enjoy working with this coach. Nikolai offered a short program, and the free program was selected initially my coach (Inna Goncharenko) and me. I liked that Nikolai puts the program so that it is convenient for the athlete to skate, and tries to make one element of harmony out of the other.

After the performances, who do you usually call?
I immediately call my mom, She is going through and does not watch my performance, it is important to find out how everything went, personally from me. We also have another family tradition - my mother and father meet me at the airport after the competition, and together we go home.

And finally, Lena and Vika Beruzkova playing in the snow today:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MRu_W995n0

I realllllly hope that Lena does NOT get sick from this... :slink: But it was super cute.

You can see Lena trying to slide down the hill (many times), but also here:
https://youtu.be/4MRu_W995n0?t=6m12s

And again at 9:00...and then around 9:55, poor Vika slips and falls on the snow, and everyone dies of laughter. Lena is literally  in the snow.

Around 14:25, you can see Lena looking at something on the third girl's phone and generally being adorable. :luv17:

Then they walk back to the ice rink, and around 18:55, they ask Lena what kind of jacket she has (I think), and she proceeds to model it for the camera.

Aaaand, at the very end, Lena collapses on the couch (22:00).

Wasn't she supposed to have 4 different short programs this season? I wonder what happened to them.

wow Batsuchan u're from the US!:eeking: lol I for some reason (nickname probs) was sure u're from Japan:laugh:

Figure skater Elena Radionova: As long as my heart is occupied only sport

In Bratislava, Slovakia from 25 to 31 January will take place the first important competition of the season for skaters: the European Championship. Metro reporter met with 17-year-old member of the Russian team, CSKA Moscow school pupil in figure skating after S. Zhuk Elena Radionova and talked about the upcoming competition, the relationship in the main team of the country and even about love

Q: In the midst of the Christmas holidays you celebrated your birthday
A: Oh, yes! It was just a great day, met with all my friends, we have a very fun time. Many gifts received and every one remembered. Satisfied. Everything was just wonderful.

Q: Before the European Championship you said that you are experiencing problems with equipment—your dress was a little small. It’s OK now?
A: Fortunately, yes. The costume for the free program had little to alter [could not be altered]. So in Bratislava, you will see a new dress. I promise, it will surprise you.

Q: During your workouts watching world-renowned coach Tatiana Tarasova. She advises you?
A: Tatiana helps make the program even better. Before major competitions she comes to training every day. She suggests giving new direction in the work. Without her, it is generally very difficult to imagine CSKA.

Q: Euro Qualifiers held at the Russian championship. An important tournament, strong skaters, fierce competition. It is normal for 2-3 places in the team actually claims 7-8 people?
A: In place of the national team can claim, and 10 people. I think this is normal, as a result, the ones who skated their programs cleaner will go to the international competitions. Elements in principle, are the same [for all the skaters], surprises are difficult. Therefore, at the forefront it is the quality of their performances. I am very glad that I get to go to Europeans, but at the same time I’m sad that many strong girls are left behind. But this is sports, this is life.

Q: Women's figure skating in Russia in the past few years is booming. This is logical, or coincidence?
A: Well, in sports this is always the case: first decline and then rise. In Russia there are new good skaters, they train, they want to achieve something. Therefore, the overall level is growing. The ratio in the Russian team is very good, I had a great talk with Sotnikova, Lipnitskaya, Tuktamysheva. We support each other.

Q: After the Olympics in Sochi Adelina Sotnikova hasn’t developed “star disease”?
A: I assure you, she is the same as she was up to the Olympics. Open, cheerful. And then, in training all the boundaries are erased, one in general, does not think about titles and regalia.

Q: Last year, at the Grand Prix in Beijing you were without your coach. How did the absence of Inna Goncharenko affect you?
A: It was a completely new experience. I realized that I need to be ready for anything and rely only on myself. I began to feel confident. Clearly I know what to do to tune in to the implementation of all elements of the program. By the way, this does not mean that I no longer need a coach. Inna Goncharenko, we have been working together since I was 4-years old, and in training we sometimes fight, but this is normal. The working process.

Q: For the musical accompaniment in your programs you choose classical compositions and works of other genres. Which ones are more comfortable for you?
A: Each program is unique. I skated to Rachmaninoff, and to Lara Fabian - and I can say that like it and then, and more. The main thing – is to carry out the program of the soul. Without this it is impossible to achieve success. It is important to create an overall favorable environment, it will give the right attitude. In the new season, I have been working with choreographer Nikolai Morozov, I really like.

Q: After another world record Japanese Yuzuru Hanyu there is talk about revising the grading system in figure skating. The current system suits you?
A: This is the first time I heard about the revision of the system. At the moment I'm happy with everything. The main thing - to show everything that you can do, everything to the maximum. This is the task I set for myself at the European Championship.

Q: How do you live outside of sports?
A: Oh, now here I will have a very difficult year because I have to finish high school and prepare for the exams. Every day tutors come to me, and it is hard getting ready for the Russian, mathematics, English and biology. When there is free time - I can get out to the movies.

Q: I know you're seriously interested in cinema. Who in the future would you like to play?
A: Well, I only have a superficial knowledge about the movie, I'm just interested in cinema as a process. I think that's turned out to me an actress or not. Maybe in the future I would play some of the lyrical character.

Q: And is the heart of Helena Radionova taken?
A: While only in sports. (smiles) [Only by sports? Not sure what she means..]

From an interview with Galina Golubkhova, senior coach of the junior national team.
http://www.rg.ru/2016/01/26/championat.html

Radionova, it seems to me, is the favorite of the whole team, and certainly of the journalists.

Galina Golubkova: [Lena is] very friendly, sociable. And though now Lena is going through the not-easy period of maturation, she can compete for the highest place. That's a real fighter. Strong-willed, stable, never surrendering. At the beginning of the season, it was not easy for Anya Pogorilaya, but she gathered at the Russian championship and an excellent skater won her place in the team.

And a practice report/mini interview:
http://www.gazeta.ru/sport/2016/01/26/a_8042471.shtml

Elena fell a couple of times out of the blue, for no apparent reason, and it seems it’s because the rink is an unusual width (28m, vs 30m for Olympic-sized rinks and 26m for North American rinks).

Despite some difficulties of adaptation, Elena was the only Russian figure skater that has agreed to talk with reporters "on record", albeit briefly. But she had the time to tell us that the break between the Russian championship and the start of preparations for Europeans was only a couple of days - just enough to celebrate the New Year. And the final week before leaving for the championship Radionova spent at Novogorske where, she said, it is very comfortable, there are two ice arenas and can be easily prepared.

Yep, of course our sunny girl Lena always has time for the press. Hence she is the “favorite” of the journalists! :agree:

I have to admit, that is my big concern about Lena at Worlds—she always seem to struggle with her Lutz on the North American rinks, because she always does them in the corner, which is a lot closer than she expects. :slink: But overall I'm not too worried...Lena's practices usually are so-so, it seems.

I also wonder if Lena (and the rest of Goncharenko’s group) can train at Novogorsk full time—if it is true that the situation at CSKA is tense and she can’t get decent ice time there.

GOOOO LENA!!! :cheer:

wow new dress!! I cannot waiittt~~

Thanks for the trans!
Regarding the grading system, what does it mean, that the current system suit Lena?

Wasn't she supposed to have 4 different short programs this season? I wonder what happened to them.
That's a good question! I guess "Je T'aime" was received well enough by the Fed and the judges (i.e. She got decent scores) so there was no reason to change it...? Maybe we'll see one of them next season?

wow new dress!! I cannot waiittt~~

Thanks for the trans!

They're asking if Lena likes the current Code of Points judging system. I guess she thinks it's fine.

Q: And is the heart of Helena Radionova taken?
A: While only in sports. (smiles) [Only by sports? Not sure what she means..]
She said: "There's only sport in my heart right now."

She was amazing today. I could not take my eyes off her- especially the way she moves her arms during spins- fantastic! I think she could have been awarded with higher marks though. Well, lets see how it goes with LP. Wishing Elena lots of great mood and luck!

Congrats to Lena for skating a clean SP! :agree: I watched live (on the Internet) and didn't jinx her, so that was a relief for me!!

I was surprised she went for the flip instead of the loop-I was worried she did it because her hip was bothering her or something, but it seems like it was a conscious choice to increase her base value. The GOEs she received are really weird though. She didn't get an edge call or !, so I guess it's because some judges thought she didn't have enough steps before the jump.?

Here are a bunch of interviews:

http://rsport.ru/figure_skating/20160127/892223458.html

Russian figure skater Elena Radionova said that performance in the short program at the European Championships was one of her best and most confident skates of her career.

Radionova, silver medalist of the European Championship last year, received 70.96 points from the judges for the short program at the tournament, held in Bratislava.

"I'm actually very happy with my skate because I replaced the loop with the flip. When we came here, thought that jump, but when I skated the program, I decided that we should definitely try, because everyone knows the saying - who did not risk, that ... I'm very glad that I could, did, fulfilled the task that I have set, and I think that's one of my best and most confident skates ", - Radionova told reporters.

"Coach (Inna Goncharenko), of course, wanted me to do a flip. But she hesitated, as I did. Yet I was sure 100 per cent in the loop, but for a long time I have not done a flip in the short. The coach told me to solved itself like better. I think if I did the loop, I would have blamed myself for it, "- added the athlete.

She also stressed that fulfilling the flip she won a small victory over herself. "You can call it a victory. Risk - a noble cause," - said the skater.

According to Radionova, after her successful performance at the last European Championship competition, it seems she is already familiar with the situation. "I have come to absolutely familiar environment, I think that everything is the same, and the opponents are always the same people, I often see them. I feel comfortable in this situation," - she concluded.

Here I think the comments about the flip are clearer:
http://www.fsrussia.ru/news/1789-elena-radionova-dovolna-zamenila-ritberger-na-flipp.html

Q: Who decides a coach or you perform a jump?
A: My coach, of course, wanted me to do a flip. But Inna Germanovna (Goncharenko) doubt. And I doubt until the last, because I was a hundred percent sure about the loop, but for a long time I have not done the flip in the short program. In training, I have been preparing the jump. And the coach told me: "You decide". I knew that Inna Germanovna wants me to jump the flip, and I did. If I jumped loop, then blame yourself. And so we can say that this is my small victory over myself. Risk - is a noble cause.

Q: How did you prepare for this championship?
A: Everything is as usual. Before the European Championship with the coach we went for a week to Novogorsk. We decided that it would be better, since such gathering all thoughts are about training and no distractions.

http://www.team-russia2014.ru/article/figur/23941.html
Q: 2015 European champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva was not included in the squad, and you are the silver medalist of European Championship-2015. Will try to defend the title Russia won a year ago?
A: Of course, I want to win the European Championship. Although the main thing - is to skate both programs decently.

So proud of Lena for going after the flip today. Not sure if this will be her season, but love the investments she's starting to make for the future by remaining steady and upping her BV. Looking forward to seeing her sail through in the new dress.

but isn't she keeping the same FS dress

No she is not keeping the same FS because of her growth it is too tight. Someone posted an interview a few post of where Elena says she is surprising you with a new FS dress because the other one can't be altered
