My gf flew to Moscow last week, especially for this Tatler thing. She still there for Rostelecom and be back in Cali only next week. So I think saw them in person, I need to check her instagram to see what up with her. Not too sure if she would recognize Plushy's son, unless there would be a Plushy himself next to.

Tatler Ball in Moscow usually OTT with people, though I don't remember much. I was just once, 5 years ago or so. I remember only Mikhalkov's daughter, young Ilze Liepa and Andris Liepa himself (I was lucky to share a handshake and short chat with the man), one of the Konchalovsky's daughters. All in all I was told it's the same every year just different youngsters and their semi-celeb parents. ;)

So I guess Rita and Lena were a good match for event. Although Rita is already Olympic champ, but Lena need to work her monkey butt more. :) I think they acquainted tho, for years already.

Yes. She looks fat in that costume, but just the belly part, since her arms are super thin.
I kinda expect an striking color of a dress and an awesome hairstyle but none :biggrin:

Radionova's "Porgy and Bess" short was highlighted by a triple lutz-triple toe combination, a triple loop, and three Level 4 elements. Despite two-footing an intended double axel, the 17-year-old couldn't ask for much more in what was her first event of the season.

"This is only my first competition and it was quite good, but I like to say it again, there is no limit to perfection, and I'm pleased that I turned in a decent performance," Radionova said. "I fell sick before the test skates (in September), and after recovery, my coach and I decided to prepare for the Grand Prix right away. Now I'm fine, but we're not pushing too hard."

Yes she looks little chubby in the dress mainly because of the accessories on it. But I am sure she has another 5 dresses waiting in her closet :-D it's Lena !

On isuresults has Anna and Elena the same height - 176 cm ( 5'5")but Elena is visibly taller then Anna, I would say she must have at least 170cm ( 5'6").

But Lena just said in her VK Live interview last week that she's 167cm, so I'm really surprised...either Lena's wearing shoes with heels or platforms, or she hasn't measured her height recently... :confused:

I'm glad to see that Lena is back to smiling in her photos now that her braces are gone! :agree:

Oh dear is all I can say.
Her jumps were not great, but if I'm honest the worst part were her transitions. I swear the whole program was just crossovers into jumps...
 
Honestly I expected much worse. She's not in good shape early this season. So 2nd place with 1 fall is actually is pretty good.
 
Choppy performance, but it's so good she made it! She was part of the entire Yulia's drama waiting and watching - right in the middle of it. It must have had an enormous emotional impact and I am proud of Elena she pulled it together. I was expecting another collapse, even spreading to Anna like a domino, but Elena took it on herself and stopped it. Truly she is a fighter!

Yup, I actually liked her Turandot program more than I expected after reading all the comments on the Ladies FS thread! It could have been so much worse, and I'm sure what happened to Yulia prior to her skate had an impact. Sure, she is struggling with her jumps but we knew that was the case last year. I just hope she and her team have a clear plan on how to improve them. Does she have a jump specialist she could work with? Maybe she should train with Mishin for a while?

Btw, I'm super happy the cut is so similar to Shoma's, b/c his program was probably my favorite from last year. I just wish she found a way to throw in a cantilever during the musical climax!!:laugh: She and Shoma both have lovely cantilevers...
 
One problem with her jumps might be too much backloading. A majority were in that second half to try to take advantage of the bonus. She may not be in shape enough to pull that off.

As for what is said on Ladies FS discussion, I don't pay much attention because I think people have their favorites that they root for and skaters that they don't like. For some of them no matter what Lena does they will find fault so I just form my own opinion. It's her first competition of season so I am ok.

I think there is pretty much to work on this program, but overaly it's not bad. But her jumps are not good yet unfortunatelly. And spins were very slow this time, don't know why, if she lacked of stamina? Its maybe the season which she will have to fight through with not really perfect results as almost all girls had to ( Anna, Julia, Liza, Serafima and this year Lena?). But I don't give up on her, she might not be this year in the EC or WC but she can have time to put herself together and be ready for olympic season which will be more important.

Btw I like her pink dress. Very elegant.
 
One thing that worries me is Russian Nationals. The first 2 places are already taken. Elena will have to compete for the last spot on the team.
